We’ve finally seen gameplay footage of Red Dead Redemption 2. Surprise, it’s got cowboys. Our ‘Shop Contest this week is all about figuring out where those cowboys go.
Sylvanas destroyed Teldrassil last week in a controversial moment in World of Warcraft’s geopolitics, and I asked you to find me a new culprit for this video game bad thing.
World of Warcraft is a game that is absolutely full to the brim with characters who are decent people and then turn very bad. This week saw Sylvanas Windrunner, the leader of the Horde faction, burn down a major in-game location. Or did she?
Last week was all about the changes in someone’s sky, and I asked you to show me some horrors that someone might, maybe, get to see in the giant procedural universe of No Man’s Sky. I was not disappointed.
No Man’s Sky’s NEXT update dropped this week, and people are owning the sky. They’re commanding freighters and scooting ships around the galaxy. But deeper evils exist, and this week’s ‘Shop Contest is about finding them.
This was an action-packed week of ‘Shop Contest because you all were hunting down the known criminal Captain Toad and demonstrating all of his wickedness. And, by golly, we’ve proven how truly depraved he is.
Nerd. Hanger-on. Thief. These are all words we think of when we’re brought into contact with the nefarious Captain Toad. This week’s ‘Shop Contest is all about showing all the awful deeds that the so-called “Captain” has accomplished in his long, evil career.
Emperor Palpatine isn’t getting the respect he deserves, so last week I asked you to put the evil-ass Sith Lord in basically everything that you could. I was not [evil voice] disappointed.
Dice have decided that Emperor Palpatine is too powerful, so they have removed him from the game until he can be brought down to normal human power levels. That dude’s a Sith lord, though, so he should be powerful. And he should also be everywhere.
Fornite keeps upping the ante with its strange world developments from season to season, and last week’s ‘Shop Contest was all about adding even more mysteries to the pile.
Video game characters are patriotic, probably, so I asked you to create some images that depicted what your favorite characters were up to for the most American of holidays.
Independence Day is this week for Americans, and that means barbecues, American flags plastered on everything, and lots of people (who are also plastered) lighting fireworks and shooting them into the sky, into the ground, and at each other. Let’s put that in video games.
It’s time to go outdoors and get sweaty in pursuit of fun, but we don’t want to leave our favorite video game characters out of the action. I asked you to make summer sports happen, and you delivered.
Mario Tennis Aces is slamming into Switches everywhere this weekend, so I think it’s time for us to get video games ready for summer sports.
Smash Bros. is a fan favorite, and one of the reasons it is so successful is that it brings all of our favorite characters together to absolutely wreck house all over each other. I asked you to add more characters. You delivered.
The new Smash Bros. game has a lot of characters, but it doesn’t have every character ever created, so our ‘Shop Contest this week is all about cramming more weird stuff into this game.
E3 was this week, and we saw many different things appear onstage. Last week I asked you to create some images of the things that you wanted to see at the show, and golly did you deliver.
It’s E3 this week, and we’re going to be shown lots of games that we expect and a few that we don’t know anything about. I need ‘shops that show me the latter.
