Re: TECMO BOWL: KICKOFF FOR THE NINTENDO DS COMING THIS FALL
Dear Tecmo,
Don't you dare fuck up Tecmo Bowl. No story, no graphic overhaul, don't touch the soundtrack, no DC comic characters... and god help you if you include Mii.
Signed,
Brian

So the plural of Mii is Mii?
And yes, I agree with that letter completely.
May fools? hopefully?
Wow, straight from the man.
big baby jesus!
Your days are numbered Madden!!
Bo Jackson had better still be unstoppable....
Amen Crecent, Amen. I really wanted a new console version of Tecmo Bowl but I'm afraid that in the wrong hands it could turn out to be a pile of crap.
uhhhh... Mii is Wii... and this is for the DS
Ready, down, hut, hut, hut, hut...
As long as as I can do 80 yard passes, this game is going to be awesome.
Hmmm, props on the letter Crecente.
Let' hope they listen, but as soon as I saw the stylus control options all hopes melted away.
Ah well, some things are better left as classics rather than destroyed.
@exkon: Not just 80 yard passes, 110 yarders, and an automatic uber blitz if you guess your opponent's play!
cry psp, cyrcyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyrycyr

Wow...Brian Crecente FTW! Can we nominate this as the Post of the Week?
OH MY FUCKING GOD.
Finally someone read our comments. Tecmo Bowl is back! EA can eat Take 2 for all I care now because I will still have a good football game to playo ther than madden.
PS. Dont sneak in DOA girls onto a football team. Make them cheerleaders. thanks.
What about the Wii version?
*ctrl+f*
*bo jackson*
Pass.
HAHAH @ Delivery Confirmation Requested.
God I need to get out of this office.
ROFL best email EVAH!!!!
As long as it doesn't use both screens for viewing the field --I personally feel games like Sonic Rush were ruined in that way-- I'll give it a look.
To recap:
Top Screen = Field.
Bottom Screen = Play book.
Madden has nothing on this.
Touchdown Thurman Thomas!
@Bigfoot: That NFL license begs to differ
Miis aren't on the DS. OR ARE THEY?
@BeetMkr10: I'd say it's either "Yuu" or "Zem"...
Ok, lame joke, I admit.
Well, I may actually buy a sports game for the first time since Bad News Baseball.
Super Abilities: Tactically use over-the-top plays to take over a game.
Or just be the Raiders and "tactically" deploy the single most unstoppable character in videogame history.
@ exkon:
Yep, laser passes ftw.
@A Pimp Named DaveR:
Don't forget about Barry Sanders
New cut-scenes?
Fuck that.
If L.T. isnt in this then I dont want.
my childhood T_T
Now that Tecmo Bowl is back, can we all agree that we want Mutant League Hockey next?
No, Bo Jackson, No Marcus Allen, No Tim Brown, No L.T..... No Point.
hey let's all geek out on an overrated game from our childhood!
/prays for Basewars
Dear Tecmo,
No thanks.
@AnotherGamer:
There is a console version coming too. I'm pretty sure for Wii. It just hasn't been officially announced yet through PR, but Tecmo did say it's also being developed.
@sim0n:
It's not overrated, it was actually underated. The game holds up today better than 99% of games ever made. People still play it in online leagues using emulators.
@Crecente: Could not have put it better myself.
@Canadian Impostor: Agreed on Mutant League hockey. If done well, that could be a blast.
Man, I would so totally drop money on a console version that just had updated rosters. Keep everything else the same and my $20 would be yours.
@Canadian Impostor: I'd prefer Rollerball. That was awesome. Yeah. Rollerball.
Thurman echoes your sentiments, Brian.

Cautiously Optimistic...
More Tecmo Bowl?!?! Do wan...wait, super abilities? Hmm, I may have to wait and see on that one.
If they have the old school Tecmo Bowl sound effects though, I may buy it just for that. Ready! DOWN! Hut, hut, hut, hut, hut, hut, hut!
wait, i thought we hated sports games here?
It might be blasphemy, but I preferred Super Tecmo Bowl... I liked being able to pick which plays I could have in the playbook and which players were in my starting lineup.
I was hoping they were going to release Super Tecmo Bowl as a VC title... but it looks like it's coming to the DS instead!!!
OMG can't wait. They better not screw this up. Funny everyone is mentioning Thurman (my all time favorite player)
@Fonzy: OMG that's gotta be the funniest thing I've seen all day!
@Canadian Impostor: I've wanted the Mutant League games on XBLA for some time now. Crecente, can you also send a letter to EA re: Mutant League Hockey and Football?
Forget that. I'll take additions to the game. Just don't take away what is/was great about it...the gameplay. I don't care about Bo Jackson or the soundtrack(yeah, that's what's good about it :p), you don't even have to have real teams. Just same charming and pure fun gameplay.
and for all the Nintedo Billy Mitchells out there, just release it on the VC.
I STILL play Tecmo religiously to this day, with updated rosters and originals. It's a hallowed game that, for its own traits, cant be approached by anything else. Even if they "muck it up", it doesn't change the enjoyment of the original. That said, I also hope they dont tarnish the name, as a slightly updated version of Tecmo for the DS would be very very very satisfying indeed =D
@A Pimp Named DaveR: Hahahaha! I was just going to say that.
Honestly, this had better be side-view, and...this had just better be a Tecmo Bowl re-release.
Personally, I'd rather just get a localized Eyeshield 21. But then again, I'm canadian, and we play football with three downs, so what do I know.
@ChimDeathmonkey: Barry Sadness got nothing against Lord Jackson
