Couple of days ago we tipped you off that the dev team behind the PlayStation Eye's software, Zoe Mode, were envisaging the device being used alongside a "YouTube-esque back end" which will give users "a number of upload and community features".
Sony got that cracking yesterday in Japan (other markets to follow) with the launch of their eyeVio service. Unlike YouTube (and very much like all things Sony), the only thing it has in common is the fact you're uploading videos: Sony will be monitoring content very, very closely because "we believe there's a need for a clean and safe place where companies can place their advertisements". So no licenced content, then.
As you can see above, eyeVio's got PS3 on its mind with a controller pictured, but what's up with the boomerang pad? Didn't they get the memo?
