UncategorizedSomewhere, Out There, Is A Timeline Where These Nintendo Games Exist
It is time, as it is around this time every year, for Japanese game store Meteor to hold their Famicase exhibition, where artists from all around the world are invited to create cartridge art for non-existent video games. This is one of my favourite parts of this job, because I’ve somehow managed to write this…

CultureOld Build Of Switch Game Released Early, Publisher Calls It A “Happy Surprise”
Action RPG Indivisible, from Skullgirls creators Lab Zero, is great! The version that was reportedly released on the Switch this week, though, has been a very weird story. The game came out on April 28 with absolutely no advance notice whatsoever, to the point where even the game’s developers had no idea: That’s odd, and…

OpinionImpressionsMoving Out, A Game About Trashing Someone’s House
Moving Out is a new game out this week on PC, Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. It’s a singleplayer or co-op experience, full of wacky arm-bending and physics gags, and depending on how you’re involved with the process is also an eerily accurate simulation of the art of moving house. As we’ve reviewed previously on…

CultureGTA Online Players Are Picking Sides In A Giant Alien War
There is a war raging in Grand Theft Auto Online, but not between drug dealers or criminal kingpins. Instead, players are donning green, purple, or white suits in a war of different colored aliens. It’s weird, even for GTA Online. As with most wars and conflicts, it is impossible to pinpoint a specific moment when…

UncategorizedHuh, SNK just released Gals’ Fighter on Switch Neo Geo Pocket Color’s cool clicky stick let it host some strangely good fighters, and this was the cutest. Nice to see NGPC games reappearing, and $7.99 is a lot easier to swallow than the $450 a U.S. copy of Gals’ Fighter recently fetched.

UncategorizedPlayers Disliked Valorant‘s New Headshot Sound So Much That Riot Is Changing It Back
A headshot is like a tiny home run, or the world’s most densely packed bowling strike. You hit the target as perfectly as possible. Briefly, you are akin to a god, or at least one of history’s least-awful monarchs. These moments should stand out, especially when bullets are flying and chaos reigns. Valorant’s new headshot…

Fine art is all the rage in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. OpinionImpressionsPredator: Hunting Grounds Is Only Fun When The Predator Is Around
Predator: Hunting Grounds takes the original film’s concept—a small squad of soldiers on a mission in the jungle are ambushed by a deadly alien hunter—and turns it into an asymmetrical multiplayer game. It seems like a logical and fun adaptation, but some mediocre gunplay and long waits bog the whole experience down. Hunting Grounds, out…

It’s a very rainy Thursday where I am. Welcome back to our daily open thread. Yeterday’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tease got me thinking about the trip I took to Norway a few years ago. In Oslo, there’s sort of a peninsula with a bunch of museums on it—I had been determined to make it to…
