Confessions Of A Teenaged Strip-Mall GameStop Delinquent

Everybody at the strip was convinced that Caleb had stolen the cash. We were leaned back in uncomfortable metal chairs that left dents in our legs, sitting around a table littered with menthol cigarette butts. “The strip” was a strip mall, sterile and unexceptional, home to a Starbucks, a Cold Stone, a Chipotle, a GameStop.…

The Gears 5 Glitch That Saved Me

I’m fighting the same video game battle for the 15th time in the past hour. This time, I think, I’m going to beat it. Enemy gets me with a chainsaw in the back. Nope. Try again. This time? Shot with a missile from afar. Deep breath. It’s going to all work out this time. But…

The Week In Games: Loot And Shoot With Your Friends

After a long wait, the new Borderlands is finally coming out this week. Borderlands 3 is releasing Friday for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and bringing with it some ridiculous number of guns. Maybe too much loot, really? Some folks call games like Borderlands 3 “shlooters.” This is a silly word, but it’s particularly strange…

DragonCon has been running for over 30 years now, drawing tens of thousands of attendees to one of the oldest and best cons on the planet, the highlight of which is often the giant cosplay parade that weaves its way through downtown Atlanta. Metroid Cosplay Is Blowing Socks Off

Here’s Japanese cosplayer 11Vadu with one of, if not the best Samus outfit I have ever seen. The accuracy, the movement, it’s incredible. I think what I like best, though, is the material used for the bulk of the chestpiece. It’s…modular foam floor mats, cut and shaped, which you can see in this vid that…

Back in 2017, EA was dealing with the mess that was Star Wars Battlefront II and its hated loot boxes. Over 600k downvotes and two years later, EA’s infamous comment has officially…

Great Kotaku Content From The Past Week Like most weeks, Kotaku was filled with some great stories. Here…

Kerbal Space Program 2 Will Have Real Science Underlying Its Wacky Spaceships

One generally accepted idea about outer space is that it’s really, really hard to get there. It took pretty much the whole of human existence for any of us hairless apes to sail among the stars, and we basically had to break the concept of physics to make it happen. That in mind, the developers…

The Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Beta Is A Debate On What A Ghost Recon Needs To Be

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, the follow-up to 2017’s popular and controversial Ghost Recon: Wildlands, kicked off its closed beta weekend yesterday, letting players who pre-ordered the game take on two early story missions and a host of side missions that ostensibly will give players a clearer picture of what to expect when the game launches October…

Destiny‘s Warlock Outfits Are Still Way Too Corny

Let me tell you about some pants. They’re a soft sort of charcoal, not really grey, not really black, straight cut, good with sneakers or dress shoes, relaxed but not too relaxed. They’re good pants; I know this because two people complimented them on the same day. This makes me a style king, or at…
