1979: Japan Capsule Computers is founded in Osaka, Japan. Abbreviated, the name works out to something you may know a bit better: Capcom. Their focus was to be the manufacture and distribution of game machines - games like Street Fighter II and Final Fight.
Obviously the company transitioned to console software, bringing us franchises like Mega Man and Resident Evil...franchises that it's tough to imagine the videogame world without.
