George RR Martin Shops For Comics, Is Adorable

It’s no secret that George R.R. Martin is an old-school comics nerd, a guy who wrote fan letters to Marvel Comics back in the day. Surely, well off as he must be, somebody’s running to get his comics for him, right? Nope. He gets them himself. Sometimes, he brings Game of Thrones actresses with him,…

Timed DLC Exclusivity Is Bullshit

There’s some new Dragon Age: Inquisition DLC out today, as you may have heard. It’s called “Jaws of Hakkon” and you can get it for Xbox One, PC, and… well, that’s it. Did you play Dragon Age on PlayStation 4? Sorry. No DLC for you this week. See, publishers EA and Microsoft have come to…

Twitch Plays Pokémon‘s Final Boss: Professor Oak

Holy shit. Twitch Plays Pokémon could not have ended in a more perfect way. For those of you that haven’t been following it lately, Twitch PlaysPokémon, the stream that lets thousands of people come together and control a single game of Pokemon, was holding a throwback game of Red—the game that started it all. To…

Bloodborne Isn’t As Brutal When It Glitches Out

Bloodborne can be pretty brutal…unless it happens to hiccup. While it might not be particularly common, when Bloodborne glitches out, just about anything can happen. Some players are finding that glitches make life way easier, especially when it comes to boss battles. The GIF above, for example, comes from Typical East Coast—who found that, for…

The NiGHTS Statue Of Your Dreams

The next statue in First 4 Figures’ Sega All-Stars line is a character from a game too good for a proper sequel. NiGHTS Into Dreams was perfect, and the statue follows suit. While the 2007 sequel was okay, the 1996 Sega Saturn original was one of the best reasons to own the console, and one…

That Majora’s Mask New 3DS XL Will Be Back In Stock Tomorrow

If you wanted one of those hot Majora’s Mask New 3DS XLs but could never quite get your hands on one, we’ve got some good news: they’re coming back. The limited-edition New 3DS, which drove the world insane back in January thanks to Nintendo’s sloppy distribution and lack of communication, will be in (limited) stock…

A Brief History of Slender Man, The Internet’s Boogeyman

Slender: The Arrival launches on PlayStation 4 today, and while the Slender Man phenomenon has died down in the last few years, he’s still super creepy. Did you know he was invented on a message board? While a writer over at Giant Bomb, I profiled the history of Slender Man. You might think he’s a…

The loading times in Bloodborne are pretty long, and for a game that’s killing you every few minutes, that’s unfortunate. Sony says From Software is working on a patch to address this and “other performance optimizations and miscellaneous bug fixes.”

See If I Die In The First Five Minutes Of Bloodborne

Being a From Software title in the Something Souls vein, the only thing keeping me from endless death is loading screens and cinematics. Can I beat the clock? If you would like to hear from someone proficient in games of Bloodborne‘s ilk, then I gladly point youin Mr. Patrick Klepek’s direction. I like my 3D…

Holy Crap, The X-Files Is (Briefly) Coming Back

The truth is still out there, apparently. One of my favorite TV shows of all-time is returning! Variety reports both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will return as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Series creator Chris Carter, who recently filmed a pilot for Amazon that wasn’t picked up, will also return. FOX has ordered six…

If You See Ganon On Tinder, You’ve Gotta Swipe Right

You never know what you might find when you’re looking for love. Twitter user @siegvat was poking around Tinder when they came across an interesting fellow… Here’s how Ganon’s profile reads: “Looking for a princess that makes me Tingle. Horses Minions Fear mongering Killing sages Toppling kingdoms Transforming into horrible monsters I don’t do dick…

Jigglypuff’s Famous Rest Attack Put To The Test

One of the key things that makes Jigglypuff an absolute terror in the Smash Bros. ring is her “rest” move. If you’ve ever gone against the Puff, you know what I’m talking about: it’s when she falls asleep and then beats you into a pulp. But just how powerful is it, exactly? Numbers to the…

The Avengers Look Like They’re Going to Be Changing a Lot

It seems like Marvel Comics’ flagship team will be sporting a bunch of different members in the coming months. The teaser image above got sent out today by Marvel publicity, revealing some of the members of an all-new Avengers line-up. The new female Thor and Ms. Marvel are plain to see, obviously, but their teammates…

You Should Be Level 20 For Dragon Age‘s Surprise 1.5GB DLC

The surprise Jaws of Hakkon downloadable expansion for Dragon Age Inquisition appears to be designed for people who’ve played a fair amount of the game. Out today for PC and Xbox One, it advises players to be level 20. On Xbox One, the DLC costs $15, unless you have EA Access, which gets you a…

The conclusion of Juli Kidman’s story in The Evil Within, The Consequence, drops on April 21, Bethesda announced today. It’s the follow-up to the game’s stealth-focused DLC, The Assignment. I played it a few weeks ago and appreciated the change in gameplay scenery. You can reach the author of this post at [email protected] or on…

Lots of big changes are coming to Heroes of the Storm today. Blizzard’s list of patch notes detail dramatic gameplay adjustments alongside the addition of a new hero, map, and ranked mode known as “Team League.” The hero tweaks seem particularly interesting—Uther is basically being rebuilt with five new talents.

The Talos Principle, last year’s terrific puzzler from the developers of Serious Sam, is getting an expansion called The Road to Gehenna. Following a different character, it’ll launch on PC this spring, and come to PS4 and Nvidia Shield later this year. You can reach the author of this post at [email protected] or on Twitter…

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection: The Kotaku Collection

You can play Borderlands 2 and its associated DLC and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and its DLC today, just like you could yesterday. But this time, it’s all packaged together for the new-gen consoles in a definitive collection with some new features, like four-player splitscreen. In celebration—or, really, mostly for pure research sake if you’re looking…

20 Hours In, I’m Obsessed With Bloodborne

The Blood-Starved Beast has poisoned me. I’ve run out of antidote and health potions, but I’m not willing to die. I’m close… I’m so close… As my health fades, I swing my blade and hold my breath. “Prey Slaughtered” flashes across the screen, and my hero keels over dead. I leap off my couch with…
