If you wanted one of those hot Majora's Mask New 3DS XLs but could never quite get your hands on one, we've got some good news: they're coming back.

The limited-edition New 3DS, which drove the world insane back in January thanks to Nintendo's sloppy distribution and lack of communication, will be in (limited) stock at GameStop tomorrow, according to a memo sent out to employees today (via NeoGAF).

(We've called and confirmed with GameStop employees that this memo is indeed for real.)

According to the memo, every store in the country will get four systems each, so you'll want to get there early if you're still in the market for one of these things. I've been using mine regularly and can confirm that it's Hot As Shit, even if that right-stick nub is kind of a pain to use.

Are you considering upgrading to this New 3DS? Here are the conditions that I'd recommend upgrading under:

  1. You're REALLY into Majora's Mask and/or the 3D Zelda franchise in general
  2. You don't own a 3DS already
  3. You'd like the 3D to actually be friggin' usable for once
  4. You'd like to play Xenoblade Chronicles, or you'd like to not hate Monster Hunter 4 (which is playable but extremely frustrating on the 3DS)

It's a really personal decision. I upgraded and don't regret it for a moment, because #1 and #3 above apply to me and I'm on the fence about #4. These are the main considerations that I've found, so if any of these matter to you, it's at least worth thinking about.

That 3D, though, for real—I was wowed by it the first time I demoed a 3DS, and then used it for the first 20 minutes after getting my own system. After that, it just wasn't worth it. With the New 3DS, though, it's amazing! Every time I use it is like re-experiencing that first time I demoed the console. I can't say enough nice things about how blown away I am by the 3D on the New 3DS.
