Post-apocalyptic action platformer Steel Assault has a new trailer up showing off some gorgeous pixel animation. The game was Kickstarted back in 2015 and while it’s now 2020 and the game’s still not out (it’s planned for PC by the end of the year) it’s come a long way.

In a developer update, Crucible developers Relentless Studios have announced that they are removing two of the three game modes from the free-to-play shooter. The developer says they want to focus on their most popular mode while working to improve the game and add features like voice chat.

EA Play Live has been postponed to June 18 due to “the important conversations taking place around the world.” The event, which was originally scheduled for June 11, is meant to be a digital replacement for the publisher’s typical E3 showcase.

The summer edition of the Steam Game Festival has been pushed back a week to June 16-22. As with previous installments, the event is meant to showcase demos for upcoming games. No reason was provided for the delay.

Summer Games Done Quick 2020 is moving online in response to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. The annual speedrunning marathon will maintain its previous schedule, broadcasting live August 16-23 to gather donations for Doctors Without Borders.

Here’s the opening 22 minutes of The Outer Worlds on Switch running in handheld mode. It’s...not pretty. While the game plays mostly fine, the vibrant visuals of the original have been lost in a blurry haze of down-scaling.

2K has postponed the release of Borderlands 3's second Takedown “out of respect for what’s going on in the world.” The event was scheduled to launch today but will now be delayed indefinitely. 2K will also be adding an additional $1 million in funding to its 2K Foundations program.

Wizards of the Coast announced today’s livestream event featuring previews of the Core 2021 set will be delayed until Friday, June 5th at 7 a.m. PST. This delay also affects updates to MTG: Arena and Online that would have implemented the latest banned and restricted ruleset.

This Saturday’s PC Gaming Show has been delayed to June 13, PC Gamer wrote in a post yesterday. “Right now, we want to make space for those speaking out and demonstrating about how to end the systemic oppression and police brutality experienced by black people,” the site wrote.

It looks like Bungie is moving ahead with its Destiny 2 reveal after all. Originally leaked on Instagram, Bungie today confirmed it’ll show details of what’s to come in the game on June 9 at 12:00 p.m. ET. Other gaming events have recently been delayed following the ongoing protests.

Dead Cells, the outstanding roguevania about death, rebirth, and killing many things, is now available on Android devices. It’s the full game with no ads, a mobile-friendly auto-hit mode, and support for Bluetooth controllers, all for $8.99.
