Fortnite’s new update is now live, bringing back a nerfed Guided Missile and Jetpacks in a new limited time mode aptly titled “Fly Explosives.” Both are also now available in Playground Mode. Slurp Juice is also back after last week’s update broke it. I had some this morning. It was good.  

Fortnite turns one year old today and gets a ton of changes by way of the v5.10 update. In addition to a new SMG and a bunch of balance tweaks, it also adds a limited time birthday event complete with special challenges and slices of cake littered across the map.

Fortnite’s Playground Mode returns this week on July 25. The low-key sandbox mode had its fair share of technical issues when it debuted late last month, but Epic Games appears to have them all figured out now. Squad battle, ATV vehicles, and more will be added, with full 5.10 patch notes coming soon.

Fornite’s latest patch went live this morning, officially vaulting the Tactical Submachine Gun. It’s been replaced by a slightly higher damage, lower round SMG. Meanwhile, the Typewriter Assault Rifle is being added to Save the World mode.
