Today, Nintendo released its new GameCube-style controller for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, out on the Switch December 7. Playing Smash 4 with it today alongside my crappy $15 knockoff GameCube controller, the new official controller has a significantly longer cord and tighter trigger action. Its analog sticks are springy and delightful, too.

At BlizzCon today, Blizzard announced Overwatch’s latest hero, Ashe, a stern and strict gang leader who looks absolutely killer. I Can’t Stop Kicking People To Death In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
I’ve kicked so many people to death in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Off hill tops, mountain ledges, and temple roofs. I can’t help myself. In this latest entrant in the stealth series about assassinating historical figures, stealth is no longer the most important skill, and assassination attacks no longer guarantee success. So I’ve fallen back on…

Since hearing about it at this year’s E3, I keep asking myself one question: what the hell is the The Quiet Man? Developed by Human Head Studios and Square Enix, every new trailer for the game was more confusing than the last. Now that the game is out, I finally have my answer. It is…

Why Reporting a Red Dead Redemption 2 Leak Cost a British Website $1.3 Million
The video games media reports on leaked information all the time. CultureKotaku Game DiarySave Me Mr. Tako Sure Feels Like A Game Boy Classic
If I didn’t know Save Me Mr. Tako: Tasukete Tako-San was a tribute to retro handheld games, I could easily be convinced it was a long-lost Game Boy classic. Released this week on Nintendo Switch and Steam, the game starts Mr. Tako, an octopus caught in the middle of a war between octopi and humans…

Gritty Has A Child And It’s This Diablo III Amiibo
Diablo III’s loot goblin is the latest creature to join the ranks of Nintendo’s line of Amiibo toys. The little red menace…

Diablo III On Switch Is Great But Keeps One Of The Console Version’s Most Annoying Features
Diablo III is basically Gauntlet on steroids and with better menus, which both helps and hurts its newest iteration on the Switch. The much-anticipated Switch port, which will be released November 2, teases at being the go-to couch multiplayer game Diablo III was always meant to be, and in some cases, succeeds at it. Yet…

Longtime Pokémon Director Might Be Stepping Down
Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee might be the last time Junichi Masuda sits in the Pokémon director seat. Masuda has been at Game Freak, the studio behind Pokémon, since its founding. UncategorizedWesterns To Watch After Playing Red Dead Redemption 2
While playing Red Dead Redemption 2, a handful of Westerns keep coming to mind. Many of those films are most likely explicit influences, but others simply are evocative or reminiscent. For me, at least. After each round of Red Dead Redemption 2, my list of movies I want to rewatch keeps growing. So far, it…
