Civilization VI’s AI Gets A Much-Needed Fix This Week

One of the most annoying issues with Civ VI’s AI since launch has been the severity of warmonger penalties. Raise a finger against another Civ ever, even in defence, and you’re in trouble for the rest of the game. That’s not very fair, so it’s getting a fix. The game’s Spring Update will scale warmonger…

Why Women Want To Have Sex With Garrus

My Mass Effect playthrough was the most straight-laced, male heterosexual journey you could imagine. I boned Ashley, despite her space-alt-right leanings. Then I boned Miranda, because I mean, I’m only human. Garrus was just my mechanic. The guy stuck at the bottom of my ship fixing shit. But then I discovered something. Women dig Garrus.…

If it’s happening to you, you’re not alone. All you have to do is reboot your…

Sunless Sea Is Great On iPad

The beautifully-written survival exploration game Sunless Sea came to iPad last week. It feels right at home on mobile. You set out from your home port of Fallen London in…

Months Later, OneShot Gets A New Ending

In OneShot, the main character knows about you, the player, and the two of you form a bond that’s really friggin’ sweet. It’s a very meta game, full of puzzles that sometimes escape the bounds of the game world entirely. Case in point: a puzzle that was, for months, the one thing players couldn’t figure…

Battlefield 1‘s newest DLC They Shall Not Pass adds one of the largest battles from World War One: the Battle of Verdun. But how does this depiction compare to reality? The Battle of Verdun was a massive clash between France and Germany. The German goal was to choose a strategic target of such importance that…

Underwhelming Gay Romance Options In Mass Effect: Andromeda Disappoint Many Fans

Mass Effect is a franchise known for letting players sleep with other characters, and while that sauciness makes a return in Andromeda, some romance routes have left fans heartbroken. Since it was released, Andromeda has been criticized about how it handles gay romance options, particularly for male characters. On neoGAF, Reddit, unofficial BioWare forums, and…

Smash 4’s Competitive Scene Is Hype Because Nintendo Leaves It Alone

Last weekend’s Super Smash Bros. 4 tournament, one of the most anticipated yet, was a wrestling-style rivalry match between two crews led by two Smash titans. Drawing over 50,000 viewers, Civil War was a DIY event from the ground up. It’s the kind of event that could only exist around a gaming community left to…
