Last Friday, the official Dragon Ball Cafe and Diner opened in Osaka, Japan. The eatery serves up Dragon Ball themed food and drink, showcases beautiful art, and sells special merch. The first Ready Player One preview had loads of cameos and pop culture references, so it’s no surprise that the latest one does, too. As previously pointed out, the new trailer features Chun-Li and Overwatch’s Tracer. There are also other cameos, with characters from games, anime, comics and more showing up. Let’s have a look!…

Ash from Pokémon Will Change Again Next Year

Over the years Ash’s appearance has changed. In next year’s Pokémon anime movie, the eternal 10-year old will once again look different. As previously reported, the character’s appearance made big changes for the current TV anime Pokémon Sun Moon and then changed again for this year’s Pokémon movie Yet Ash still looked different in last…

The Dutch Are Coming To Civilization VI

Another of my favourite Civ V factions will be returning to Civ VI next year, with the Dutch accidentally revealed a little early on local TV. Correction – 6:20am, Dec. 12: The reveal wasn’t accidental, it was done “with permission and agreement from 2K”. The Dutch program RTL Boulevard had footage of the new Civ…

The Next Lord Of The Rings Game Is A Real Good Card Game

I’ve been playing the Lord of the Rings card game for years now, so it’s super exciting to see the experience being ported to the computer, where there will be music and special effects and an absence of incompetent human teammates. First released in 2011, Fantasy Flight’s Lord of the Rings Living Card Game (not…

Marvel Pro’s Reaction To Winning Tournament Is Fantastic

Jonathan “Cloud805″ Morales emerged victorious in today’s Battle For The Stones grand finals. After winning, he took not just the trophy and prize money, but the on-stage host, too. After beating fellow Marvel vs. Capcom veteran Christopher “NYChrisG” Gonzalez 3-2, Morales ended Infinite’s first capstone tournament by hoisting commentator Steve Scott, also known as “TastySteve,”…

Cat Cosplay

Hi everyone. This is Waffles the cat. Waffles maybe likes to cosplay, or is maybe just chill enough to sit still long enough to take a photo in costume, which as far as cats are concerned is practically the same thing. Waffles is something of a social media celebrity, but we’re not interested in his…

If Owlboy‘s Artist Made A Mega Man Game

Simon Anderson was the art director for Owlboy, one of last year’s great indie games and certainly one of its best looking. Today he showed what a Mega Man game animated by him would look like in action. Spotted by Destructoid, the artist apparently decided to share a bunch of mock-ups he’s created over the…

In Case You Wanted A PS4 Controller With Giant Fangs On It

Custom controller designer Shed of Dreams decided to make a PS4 dualshock inspired by the new Monster Hunter: World game coming next year. I’ll give them this: it definitely looks like something you might craft from the remains of dead monsters. In addition to the scaly black skin on the handle parts the creator also…

Minions Win The Game In League of Legends All-Star Match

In game 2 of last night’s All-Star match between Korea and China, it seemed the latter had just secured a 2-0 sweep of their opponent, downing all five opposing team members. But the Chinese all-star team forgot about the sixth man: the minions. While champions, the player-controlled avatars in each match of League of Legends,…

Destiny 2‘s Lack Of Cross-Play Is Tearing Us Apart

Destiny 2 is a mess right now, as we discuss on today’s episode of Kotaku Splitscreen, but for Kirk and me, worst of all is that we’re not playing together anymore. First, we talk about the news of the week including Mega Man 11 (15:09), Curse of Osiris breaking things, and Xenoblade 2. Then, Kirk…

In the first game of last night’s ROG Masters grand finals, Team Empire was playing back from a huge deficit. Their barracks and towers were down, and their all-important ancient was wide open. How did they come back? By going straight for the enemy’s ancient. Barracks in Dota 2 are vital structures—destroying them boosts your…

The Internet’s Having Some Fun With Ready Player One‘s New Poster

Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One adaptation got its first poster this weekend and there’s something a little off about it. Namely actor Tye Sheridan’s left right leg which seems to stretch on into infinity. The book, and the movie recreating it, are about a virtual reality called the OASIS and one teenager’s journey (Sheridan) to…
