A lot of the best cosplay photos on this site come from conventions, but many of you will never have actually been to one. So here, let this guided tour of the grounds of the recent Katsucon by Felix Wong act as the next best thing.

Someone Has Beat Nioh In Under Two Hours, The Current World Record

Nioh is a massive game. Reviewing it took around 60 hours. Speedrunner Distortion2 puts myself and everyone to shame with his world record run, which clocks in just over an hour and a half. Distortion2 holds the third place world record in Dark Souls 3 and has been blasting his way through Resident Evil 7,…

2017 Is The Year Playmobile Escapes The Shadow Of The Lego Aisle

Invented by German Inventor Hans Beck in 1974, Playmobil has been a toy store mainstay for decades, yet it’s never reached the height of popularity enjoyed by the likes of Lego. That could change this year, as Playmobil gets into the licensing game with Ghostbusters and How To Train Your Dragon Even if you don’t…

My Favorite Images From Toy Fair 2017 Day Three

I’ve escaped from New York’s Javits Convention Center, but not before snapping some final shots of the wonders on display at the 2017 New York Toy Fair. Check out new stuff from Mass Effect Andromeda, Borderlands 2, Overwatch, Kingdom Hearts and whatever else caught my eye. Channeling Josephine Baker, DC Collectibles’ Vixen Bombshell statue is…

Homeworld: Deserts Of Kharak’s Creators Worked With NASA On A Cool Mars Project

Blackbird Interactive, developers of the excellent Deserts of Kharak, have teamed up with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to create an interactive tour of a concept Mars base. Not the most obvious thing to reading about, I grant you, but they’re a good fit, with Blackbird’s sleek designs helping create a colony that looks real, but…

Twenty Years Later, A Furry MMO Fights To Stay Alive

At Furcadia’s September town meeting, a hundred humanoid animals lounged on purple pillows in a lush, 32-bit meadow. Emerald Flame, Executive Producer of the oldest social MMORPG, was explaining Furcadia’s largest update since its 1996 founding to the motley pile of furry avatars, known in-game as “furres.” It was called the “Second Dreaming.” (Originally published…

Welcome To The Spooky-Ass Park Information Center

Unforeseen Incidents is an adventure game being worked on by a small team in Germany. As is a must for 2D adventure games, it has some very nice art. The team have been sharing some of it in recent months, so here’s a collection of it, showing both the backgrounds and characters from the game.…

Destiny Gets The Toys It Deserves

When a game is as pretty as Destiny can be, it deserves more than some Mega Bloks sets. McFarlane Toys sets things right this fall with a trio of Guardians, a fur-lined questgiver, a sporty ride and a $150 replica of a highly sought-after weapon. Announced last week, the official images do not do McFarlane’s…

A Very Happy Man On An Adult-Sized Big Wheel

I had to wait my turn while a silver-haired man in an expensive suit took High Roller’s adult-sized big wheel for a spin, but it was worth it. This was one of the happiest moments in my adult life. Normally I am not a fan of pictures showing the entire expanse of my body, but…

Somebody’s Gonna Have To Choke A Pokémon

This is the official art from Tomy’s Toy Fair press kit for My Friend Eevee, the follow-up to My Friend Pikachu. This is not how you treat your friends. This is how you treat your friends. I didn’t get a live picture of My Friend Eevee, as the version at the show is a work…

These Pokémon Toys Are For Girls, But Boys Will Want Them Too

Though Pokémon has always held broad appeal across all genders, toy maker Tomy says female fans have been clamoring for stuff made specifically for them. And so we’re getting adorable little miniature playsets, purse Pokémon and awesome headbands. Works for me. I was initially confused as the Tomy rep took me through the girls section…

My Favorite Images From Toy Fair 2017 Day One

The first day of the 2017 New York Toy Fair has come and gone, and while my Saturday was packed with appointments, I did manage to snap some lovely shots of some amazing new toys from Overwatch, Kingdom Hearts, The Witcher and more. Square Enix was showing off one of the first figures in its…

QUOTE | “We would like to address an expectation of ours that was not met by our newest champion, Chris ‘Dubby’ McFarland.” – An Electronic Arts statement announcing that the Madden Bowl winner was fined $3,000 for inappropriate posts he made on social media, even after the publisher warned him. STAT | $696 million –…
