Yakuza 3 is out on PS4 today, Sega annnounced today on Twitter. The 2009 runs at 60fps in 1080p and includes content that was previously cut from the Western release like the game’s hostess clubs. Sega also said that Yakuza 4 will follow in October, as well as Yakuza 5 next February. 

Video game heroes Sonic and Tails meet the cartoon heroes of Lakewood Plaza Turbo in a very special episode of OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes. The episode, aptly titled “Let’s Meet Sonic,” airs Sunday, August 4 at 4:45 pm Eastern on Cartoon Network.  

Originally released on the Wii in 2006, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is being remade for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam. It’s called Tabegoro! Super Monkey Ball with tabegoro meaning “ripe for eating.” The game will be out on October 31 on Switch and PS4 in Japan and October 29 in North America. The Steam release

Persona 5 is being turned into a stage play. Called Persona 5: The Stage (clever!), it will run this December in Tokyo and Osaka with actor Hiroki Ino starring. The full cast will be announced at a later date.

Hatsune Miku is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Sega has announced Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega39’s, launching in Japan in early 2020. It’s a new rhythm game (via Gematsu) featuring 101 songs, 300 costumes and new game modes built specifically for the Switch. Miku’s even been given a bit of an anime makeover. So

Sega is ending arcade service in Japan for its highly successful mecha game Border Break on September 9, 2019, which is the game’s ten anniversary. The game has grossed over a hundred million dollars, and Sega stated it wanted to revive Border Break on arcades, so don’t be surprised if a new version is in the works.
