Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time Preview: Floor Of The Year
The second or third sequel to a good video game is usually better than the first. But the seventh — arguably ninth — Ratchet & Clank runs the risk of Friday the 13th diminishing returns. This preview checks for pitfalls. What Is It? Ratchet And Clank Future: A Crack In Time is the third PlayStation…

Minority Report: The Non-White Gamer’s Experience
Fergus Mills searches for the words. It’s clear he wants to say this carefully. The 22-year-old from Macon, Ga. is black. His Xbox Live avatar is black. Except that it’s not. Drawing it out of him, Mills says it’s because of the avatar’s body language. And while Mills doesn’t say that’s really a white guy…

UK Scribblenauts Has Ice Lollies And Nappies
UK Scribblenauts buyers won’t have to fuss with our quaint colonial terms, with developer 5th Cell going out of their way to make sure that no one confuses football with football. I’ve been wondering how well Scribblenauts would work over in the UK, as over there taking off your pants has far stronger connotations than…

Jack Black Cosplays at Video Music Awards
Did you watch the Video Music Awards last night? I didn’t, which means I missed a bit of Jack Black cosplay. Never mind the whole Kanye West/Taylor Swift imbroglio or the Lady Gaga performance blood bath, I didn’t get a chance to see Black walk the carpet as Brutal Legend hero Eddie Riggs. MTV Multiplayer’s…

Here’s Daft Punk In DJ Hero
Last week’s news that electronic music duo Daft Punk would be contributing heavily to Activision’s DJ Hero is followed by this week’s screenshots of them doing just that. As if the old school hip-hop weren’t enough to lure me into a DJ Hero purchase, Activision had to go and recruit Daft Punk, with 11 exclusive…

The Crystal Bearers Aims For Your Post-Christmas Gift Certificates
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers might not be under your tree on Christmas morning, but the North American release date for Square Enix‘s Wii action adventure game doesn’t miss the holiday by much. December is generally a bad month for video game releases, and earlier is normally better, but when you are Square…

British Sales Charts: We Did Not See This One Coming
The British charts are a mostly predictable thing. Nintendo games most of the time, football games when applicable, shooters at Christmas. But last week threw up a little surprise. Topping the charts was not Batman, not a Wii game, not a DS game, and definitely not Beatles Rock Band. No, coming in at #1 was…

Wikipedia Warns Tecmo To Stop Editing Wiki Page
Last year was messy for Tecmo. The company’s president Yoshimi Yasuda resigned amid controversy, and its most recognizable developer Tomonobu Itagaki left the company. Yasuda was at the center of the Itagaki vs. Tecmo legal suit. Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki is suing for unpaid DoA 4 wages. These were “special incentive” wages that…
