The first day of this month’s Overwatch League finals will be broadcast on ESPN, with finals highlights airing on ABC. That’s part of a multi-year deal announced by ESPN/Disney today that’ll put other finals games on Disney XD and ESPN2/3 as well. OWL’s Twitch deal remains intact, according to the report.

This Year’s Banned Pokémon Anime Episode
Earlier this spring, the 64th episode of the Sun & Moon anime aired in Japan. Since then, the episode’s English dub has not been broadcasted in the U.S. Rather, it was skipped entirely. As Bulbapedia and Gamerant (via Yurukuyaru) explain, Ash dresses up like a Passimian in the episode. However, it’s not merely that he…

Wasteland 2 is coming to the Switch next month. The post-apocalyptic CRPG throwback originally came out on PC in 2014, and it’ll be arriving on Switch in the form of a director’s cut with new perks and quirks, a precision strike mechanic, and expanded voice acting.

Red Faction: Guerrilla Deserved Better
Red Faction: Guerilla was released in 2009. Now, in 2018, it’s back with a re-release, and playing through it again has been a melancholy experience. I first played the game at release on an Xbox 360, because that’s how I played games back then before everything was released on Steam. At the time, I remember…

The Crew 2 Players Are At Least Happy With The Game’s Car Customization Options
On paper there’s a lot to do in The Crew 2. Ten hours in, my map is full of icons. Various races, skill tests, and other points of interest are sprinkled generously from Maine to Washington. Most of it gets boring pretty quickly, and the world itself feels barren and incomplete. That’s probably why so…

Battlefront II‘s Emperor Palpatine Was Quietly Removed From The Game
The Empire is without an emperor. Last week, a Star Wars Battlefront II update apparently brought back the evil Emperor Palpatine’s game-breaking ability to shoot lightning through walls. An emergency fix completely removed him from the game, and it’s unclear when he’ll return. Star Wars Battlefront II allows players to fight as iconic heroes and…

The WWE 2K Series Is Skipping The Switch This Year
Exactly one year ago, publisher Take Two announced that WWE 2K18 would be coming to the Switch, the first WWE game on a Nintendo platform since 2012’s WWE 13 for the Wii. The return was as disastrous as it was brief. WWE 2K19 won’t be on Nintendo’s console. “The game will not be available on…

20XX Is A Procedural Mega Man X And It Feels Perfect
Batterystaple Games and Fire Hose Games must agree with me that Mega Man X is the best Mega Man game, because their 20xx is an obvious tribute. 20XX perfectly recreates the feeling of Mega Man X, and generously adds all the procedural elements (scheduled challenges, permadeath, a progression system, loot) that players want out of…

Top PUBG Streamer Says He Was Banned After Playing With Hacker [Updated]
During a livestream last night Twitch streamer Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek stated that he received a one month ban from PUBG following an incident where he played alongside a hacker. The ban comes on the heels of lengthy community speculation as to whether or not the game’s developers would actually discipline one of their game’s most…

Overwatch Fans Can’t Stop Talking About Hanzo’s Dainty Ankles
For over a year, Blizzard has insisted that Hanzo Shimada does not have prosthetic legs. Nevertheless, Overwatch fans have their doubts. Let me be frank—Hanzo Shimada has impossibly tiny ankles. Observe: As a result of this undeniable truth, Overwatch fanfiction writers have been operating under the assumption that Hanzo has prosthetic legs. The understanding was…

Far Cry 5‘s second DLC expansion, Lost on Mars, hits next week on July 17. It’ll feature side-characters Nick Rye and Hurk trying to prevent an alien invasion by shooting stuff on the red planet with some new space-themed weapons and aircraft. The third DLC, Dead Living Zombies, arrives in August.

Just an idle thought about Nintendo’s offerings for the rest of the year: The company has released new handheld models, consoles or retro consoles in North America every year since 2009, with the exception of 2014. So far, they’ve announced none for 2018. Make your predictions accordingly.
