It Took Nearly A Year To Get To An Eggman Boss Fight In Sonic Dash
Man, mobile gaming sure has slowed Sonic the Hedgehog down. The blue blur’s endless runner was released in March of last year, and we’re only just now getting to the bit where he jumps on Eggman? I blame the marketing for Sonic: Lost World, doubtlessly the cause for Sonic Dash‘s first boss fight being with…

How To Battle Other Players In The Elder Scrolls Online
My painfully slow leveling pace kept me from participating in this week’s player-versus-player frolics in The Elder Scrolls Online beta, but fear not! Rev3‘s Tara Long made it, and she gives a full accounting direct from the battlefields of Cyrodiil. From what I am seeing here, it reminds me a bit of the PVP zone…

Pop Culture’s Greatest Hits, Now In Pixelated Form
A 16-bit recreation of some of the most dramatic punches in pop culture history? Well, artist Aled Lewis just made a collection of those. From Game of Thrones to Harry Potter, and most of them look just like something from the SNES era. Hell, I’d play an Ace Ventura beat ’em up. Here’s our picks,…

I Wish Skyrim Had Towns That Looked So Idyllic
Look at the colors. So peaceful. So pretty. Well, until they burn a witch or two. In their most recent dev diary, the folks behind alt history RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance gave several demonstrations of what normal day to day town life looks like in their game. Have a look: While I adore Skyrim, aesthetically…

A Hacking Game Where You Hijack the US Government
Anyone remember Uplink? Yeah, this game is like that, only not thirteen years old. Disrupt, as it’s called, is a deceptively simple-looking game, much like Uplink. It’s mostly text-based, as you can see in the trailer below: In-game, you’re a hacker who manages to gain access to the government’s NexOS, which gives you the ability…

That retro 3D roguelike-ish beat ’em up about dystopian robot love is now on Kickstarter. They aim to collect $20,000 to finish development on Heart&Slash. Interestingly, the top reward at $10,000 is a copy of the finished game’s code in C#, delivered six months after its Q1 2015 release. Haven’t seen that before.
