This box, featuring a custom Xbox One S, controllers and a pair of Atmos x Air Max 1 ‘Elephants’, was a giveaway at Laced Up, a sneaker con in Germany. The “43″ is for 43einhalb, a sneaker store in Fulda. I could live without the Air Maxs, but the colour scheme on that console is…

Japan-Themed Board Game Gets Over $2 Million On Kickstarter
Let the success of Rising Sun remind you that board games with fancy miniatures do very well on Kickstarter The game, set in “feudal Japan”, is designed by the same guy behind Blood Rage, and plays out as a blend of strategy, worship and structured diplomacy. UncategorizedThe Future Of Battlefield 1
Battlefield 1 surprised people. The World War 1 setting came out of left field, as did a remarkably deft single-player campaign. UncategorizedFlexible Lego Tape Is A Great Idea
One of the biggest problems facing today’s Lego builders is there are only so many surfaces that can accept bricks. Team Nimuno proposes flexible solution to this dilemma—rolls of colorful, cut-table, Lego compatible tape. They’re calling it Nimuno Loops, and lots of Lego aficionados were talking about it during Toy Fair 2017 in New York…

CultureStreets of Rogue Makes Fun Of Tutorials That Say You’re Amazing For Doing Basically Nothing
Fuck Video Game Tutorial Guy. Every time you so much as breathe without shoving a brick in your mouth, he acts like you’re a long-dead godking gracing mortals with your presence. It’s cloying and ridiculous, and Streets of Rogue does a nice job of poking fun at the trope. Over the weekend, I spent a…

Ghost Recon Wildlands: The Kotaku Review
Ghost Recon Wildlands seems innocuous at first glance. It is a passable open world shooter where cooperative play leads to exciting gunfights and silly stunts. But Wildland’s core is far more insipid. It is propaganda. It is jingoism made playable, perpetuating the failed logic that all it takes to solve the world’s woes is enough…

CultureThe Latest Movie Transformer Is A Literal Pile Of Garbage
The live-action Transformers films have spent four movies reducing cities to piles of rubble. A robot that transforms into a pile of rubble, as seen in this weekend’s clip of Transformers: The Last Knight from the Kids’ Choice Awards, makes perfect sense. Fans have been wondering who the new orange Autobot is since he showed…

I Swear, If It Rains In Zelda: Breath of the Wild One More God Damn Time
Breath of the Wild is an amazing game, but I do have some gripes with it. My biggest annoyance has to be the rain, an entity that has caused me more pain and suffering than Ganon’s evil forces. Estimating conservatively from my ~60 hours of playtime, I’d say it pours more often in Hyrule than…
