Sure, we've seen earlier shots of earlier attempts at BioShock Lego, but this is new. And much, much better. Especially since this is dripping in a smokey, retro-flavoured sauce, using only plain, traditional bricks instead of the new-fandangled ones. Snyderman, from those of us with haircuts allowing the wearing of them, we tip our hats to you.

Wow that's pretty amazing. I have a love/hate relationship with lego, whenever I go to clean out the attic I just sit there for hours playing with my boxes of the stuff.
This is made of a suprising amount of win. I commend people who can make originals w/ legos. Hard enough to just follow instructions for complex things such as this.
I DON'T LIKE HIM, Mr. B!
OK, actually I do like him. Quite a lot...
Fantastic! Work of pure genius!
Wow, those are fantastic! Kudos
That's pretty sick. I'm not gonna lie.
XD
That Little Sister has one hell of a poker face.
That Big Daddy is the bee's knees. Although, I guess he doesn't really like bees, does he?
Cool! I love Lego.
Sorry if this was ever posted but I think its worth a Double post just in case:
Wii Lego

Now make a Bouncer and Snyderman is the world's newest god.
I want to make this; how I wish that it was for sale.
Mister Bubbles!
Wow, awesome work right there.
I would buy this as a kit in a heartbeat.
And I spy a few new pieces, like the speargun made into a needle. And those arm joints from the Exo-Force set. Not everything new is bad, you old farts.
@Sabre_Justice: Except music.
@Sabre_Justice: Whats wrong with todays music other then everything...
Hehe...he even made the Adam Extractor. 'Tis a thing of beauty.
Just a little disappointed by daddy-o. If you didn't put the title, it would've taken a few minutes to register.
Those are plain, traditional bricks? Tubes and joints and whatever the hell the arms and legs are made out of ... The lego sets I had as a kid had none of those parts.
@fyren: I know what you mean. At first pass, he looks like a Cylon
...whoops. Yeah, I watch BSG sometimes...
Ever since I saw my first big daddy, I always wanted to give him (her?) a big hug. With the cute Lego blocks, my temptation is even greater.
He also has a nice Halo LEGO sculpture.

Props to many LEGO builders out there.
if i had the time and money, I'd continue to try my hand at works like these...
that's imprssive. of to follow Nymo's link there, i love legos.
The Predator is pretty damn good as well.

Lego never fails to amaze me when you have people willing to put so much detail into their work. The Big Daddy looks particularly impressive.
Very impressive. I wonder what kits he used?
"Mister square-ey?"
@Peryite:
This comment was made of win.
This is great, but i prefer bouncers to rosies... anyone seen any bouncers made from lego?
@Strangelove: I 100% agree. There are many new fandangled pieces involved in this set. I believe those elbow joints are new as of the Bionicle series, and though the harpoon gun is probably about 10 years old. Even the tops of the hands are pretty new pieces, I believe only being available in the past few years.
I own a Nintendo Wii, and have never played Bioshock, so this is the limit that I can contribute to this conversation...
When I first saw the picture, I thought it was supposed to be an early Iron Man lego. Anyways, nice work!
@gramblor:
Haha, we must be getting old, waxing nostalgic about the good-old-bad-old days of solely square and rectangular blocks.
The maker of this is the Rembrandt of Lego. Very impressive.
That is some impressive lego craftsmanship. I salute thee good sir.
Wow! That's f-ing amazing!
Hey, Luke, I hate to break it to you, but the ball hinges used in Rosie's shoulders/elbows/hips/knees/ankles are new-fangled-er than any of the parts used in the previous 'Fig Daddy (last year's red Clonetrooper deco notwithstanding). So are the nifty 1x3 curved slopes that can be seen in the far right of this pic. There's also a little 1x1 slope tile used for the finger tips, a long fender piece under the barrel of the gun, and a different fender piece used just above and below the knees in the front.
The Jack Stone figure came out in 2001, the white piece used for 'Fig Daddy's head is from '86, the chainsaw blade is '93...though I can't place the red piece that was used as the Adam extractor (I'm not even sure it's authentic LEGO), and there's no way to positively identify the parts used for the Little Sister, but the only part that _might_ be a recent design is the hair.
In contrast, the ball hinge system and the little "cheese wedge" slope only go back to 2004, and the curved slopes and fenders came out in 2005.
But the Miniland-scale version does look a lot better, even if it was misidentified.
@Sabre_Justice:
The speargun is from the '87 Divers sets, and the click hinges are a _little_ older than Exo-Force, having been first used for the large-scale Knights Kingdom II characters, and some of the Designer sets like Deep Sea Predators.
@gramblor:
That hinge system has never, that I am aware, been used in a BIONICLE set. They all use free-floating ball-and-socket joints, not the clicky ball hinges.
Awesome, pure awesome. But they better not come out with a LEGO version of Bioshock (though seeing a Big Daddy shatter could be interesting).
Reminds me of my childhood. I made the most kickass laser...
@Purple Dave: Ah, you are right. I was thinking of the giant Knights Kindom (II) people, who I guess I just mentally lump into the same group as Bionicles, as they are comparable in their scale and construction style (in my opinion).
The harpoon gun is from 87? I didn't realize they had those so far back... are you sure it's that recent?
@Sabre_Justice: Oh, and by no means do I think that the new pieces stink. I am fervently looking to buy a reasonably priced Dwarves' Mine set, but sadly, they are none too available in Canada at a reasonable price...
Very impressive, makes me want to bust out my legos from the basement, although the Big Daddy halloween costume is by far the coolest thing I've seen lately@Klopfer123:
Very nice. I would so buy that if I could. I loved legos when I was younger.
@Purple Dave: The Adam extractor is a round, flat, red stud stuck on the bottom of a red, hollow cone. Pretty simple, actually.
@Those who might lament about 'new' LEGO pieces (anyone with no interest in the Brick should just skip to the next post!)
I hear this quite frequently, both online and from real life friends, and I'm going to be a complete and utter nerd for responding to it, so apologies in advance!
Since the LEGO brick was first made, LEGO has been making new brick types, new special pieces, new colors. The minifig, for example, came 20 years after the first brick. Making new pieces is not new. And some of them are quite an improvement: not every thing can be made (or looks good) with little squares and rectangles.
This is not to say that LEGO Group is perfect and every new piece is a wonderful addition. Its just that what you think of as 'classic' LEGO probably wasn't. :)
ah, legos. it brings back so many 'child-hood, mis-placing, sibling feud, over the top action fun' days! these are pretty frickin' sweet
