That’s Some Quality Smash Bros. Teamwork Right There

They call it Super Smash Bros. for a reason, ya know. Or is it pronounced Super Smash Brothers? I’ve never been crystal clear on that. Anyways, let RandyRaichu’s mistake be a lesson to anyone who doesn’t think friendly fire can be a thing in Smash. Also: Happy New Year!! To contact the author of this…

Three Fan Theories About The Return of the Lich King in WoW

The story of The Scourge and The Lich King has always been important lore, and even though the original Lich King, Arthas, is no more, his replacement, Bolvar Fordragon, will return some time in the future. Probably not in the next expansion, and even not in the one after, but he’ll be back sooner or…

It’s everyone’s favorite Star Trek space station in Kerbal Space Program. The “KS9” was built by Redditor RufusCallahan, notably without the help of any mods, and is best looked at while listening to the Deep Space Nine theme. Medieval LEGO, Taken To Another Level

As I recall assembling those simple (but awesome) LEGO Castle sets as a kid with nothing else but grey blocks and a green baseplate, looking at Daniel “Legonardo Davidsy” Hensel‘s custom medieval buildings makes me cry. This is something like mastering a map editor of a game and being able to do the most random…

Old Nintendo Manual Says Wario Is Mario’s Childhood Friend, Which Is BS

Console Wars author Blake Harris gave the internet another peek at the treasure trove of an historic Nintendo character guide recently. The main revelation this time is that the company insisted Wario “is not Mario’s evil twin,” but rather his “childhood friend.” Wait a second. What?!?! Ok, first: the relevant excerpt. Press The Buttons published…

Awesome Smash Bros. Mod Turns Brawl Into a Pokémon Fighting Game

Smash Bros. does have some Pokémon characters that you can use, like Charizard and Greninja. But, there aren’t enough playable characters for a Pokémon-centric fighting game. Enter mods. Thing is, Smash Bros. games do include the character models for plenty of Pokémon, for use whenever you throw Pokeballs in matches. Sleepy Jirachi seems to have…

Kirk’s Top 12 Games Of 2014

2014 was a funky year for new games. Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous. Several games I was hoping would be great were disappointments, and many of games I wound up liking best came out of nowhere. Like I did in 2012 and 2013, I’ve put together a list of my favorite games of the…

Powerful Pokémon and cool Pokémon are important to have in any arsenal—but they’re not the only kinds of Pokémon you’ll use. Everyone needs Pokémon that are useful, to help you capture and train other Pokémon. That’s where Utility Pokémon come in. Redditor Pekolachi remade a version of an infographic created by KaSlaps, and it’s something…

My 7 Favorite Shooters of 2014

This year has been amazing for first person shooters. The genre has languished, recently, forcing players to mostly settle for shooting galleries with the occasional twist. Prior to 2014, many shooters featured design that was intended to slow players, encouraging them to hide behind cover and focus on shooting enemies that did the same. The…
