Instant Replay Tries To Undo Rocket League Goal

Looks like a pretty standard Rocket League goal, right? I bet ObservedTrial is feeling good about himself, ready to bask in the glory of a replay. Thing is, the replay goes way horribly awry. One would expect a replay to completely match what you saw while playing the game, but that’s not what happens here.…

Those are some wicked lighting effects. KFC’s Pink Burgers Don’t Look Tasty

It’s not the meat that’s pink, but the buns. Which might be worse. The Nanfang reports that KFC China has a Rose Cheese Roasted Chicken Burger to go with a Black Diamond Bacon Spicy Chicken Burger. Last year, McDonald’s rolled out pink buns in Japan, but these KFC buns are much more pink. [Photo: KFC…

Sweet Minecraft PC, Guy

Spencer Kernbuilt a new PC recently, but he didn’t just go and build any old tower with some fans. He wanted a Minecraft-themed computer, and boy did he make one. The Redstone PC is a cube that resembles the Minecraft resource, but the attention to detail goes way past the case. Spencer customised the peripherals…

GRIN, the studio behind Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries, has closed down. In a blog post, founder Wim Wouters writes “…our public silence the last few months already said a lot. It is not out of disrespect that our communication dropped to almost zero… it is out of shame”.

Ronda Rousey Dishes On Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z Once More

UFC star Ronda Rousey held an “Ask Me Anything” crowd interview on Reddit today, and almost immediately, she discussed a ton of nerdy stuff. Here are some of her best answers. From the onset, the AMA had a good start—here’s how Ronda introduces herself in the post. My favorite Pokemon is Mew and I used…

Video Games Are Learning To Put Their Pants On

Video games look really good when there are vehicles moving, guns firing and buildings exploding. Something they don’t do as well are the little things. Like smoking, kissing, or…putting on a pair of pants. From GTA to The Witcher, intimate, very human actions like clothing changes in games are never actually shown, because the animation…

13 Year Later, Mafia Gets Multiplayer

Mafia, a very good GTA-a-like released all the way back in 2002, did not feature multiplayer. Now, thanks to some fans, it does. Having been working behind the scenes for years trying to get this up and running, last week the Lost Heaven Multiplayer team finally launched a public release of their efforts, and the…

The Witcher 3, As Told Through Beautiful Screenshots

I finished The Witcher 3 over the weekend, and I’m currently feeling a little…well, empty. But also reflective, on how it was such a remarkable game, not just for its writing, but for more superficial things. Namely, that it’s one of—if not the—most beautiful video games I’ve ever played. Which was helped a little by…

I Filmed A Sonic The Hedgehog Orgy

I’m not sure how to describe the last 20 minutes of my life, in which I played Sonic Dreams Collection, a compilation of “lost” (read: fake) Sonic the Hedgehog games that go to some truly messed up places. Sonic Dreams Collection was released today by Arcane Kids, a truly amazing little studio that was also…

A Game About A Space Station AI That Monitors Your Every Move

Over the years, humanity has sent a number of people into space to explore and document the far heavens. We’ve seen pictures, videos, and accounts from people that have been to space. But it’s still pretty difficult to imagine life out there, isn’t it? Tacoma, coming sometime in 2016 to PC, PS4 and Xbox One,…

A Game About Begging For Your Life

Someone’s about to kill you. What do you say to make them change their mind? There’s not a whole lot going on in free game Iron Sunset, but what’s there is fascinating. Initially, the setup is simple: as part of a military outfit (that’s apparently severely underfunded), you have only a single bullet to use…

Crackdown 3 Shows What The Xbox One Can Really Do

Much was made of the Xbox One’s “cloud capabilities” around the time of its announcement, but until now, the only prominent use of that technology was Forza’s “Driveatar” functionality, which essentially created a simulacrum of a player’s driving personality that lived on a server somewhere. Crackdown 3, however, has a much more interesting use for…

A Defense Of Mario Kart 8’s Unpopular Battle Mode

In video game years, Mario Kart 8 is already middle-aged yet remains virile. It maintains a healthy population of online racers over fourteen months past its May 2014 launch. By most accounts, the Wii U version of the seminal kart racer is the series’ high watermark, resplendent in its HD gloss and detail-rich course design,…

The Dumbest Thing I’ve Ever Done In Heroes Of The Storm

Have you ever done something so colossally stupid in a video game that you almost wish you had been drunk and/or high just so you could use that as an excuse? I have. There’s a specific map in Blizzard’s new-ish MOBA Heroes of the Storm called “Tomb of the Spider Queen.” The conceit of the…
