Last week's protest for Half-Life 3 outside Valve's headquarters provided the creative inspiration for the latest Kotaku 'Shop Contest, in which Gabe Newell was presented with a set of fresh demands that are only slightly less likely to be met. We've got 20 finalists inside, plus Pikmin and Pokémon fan Hermain Cain!
Leading off, GiantBoyDetective (9), Kronicus (13) and Jorvid (11) offer civil disobedience for a couple of other overdue titles. benthegameyguy (1) turned in a fan favorite and earned a long-overdue star. Cobaltios (3) had the best of the snipe-the-protesters genre.
psykofaze (16) remembers my love for all things They Live. Schnide (18) scores Gabe appropriately for difficulty and costume. WAFFO (20) and kyosen (14) offer takes in which Gabe is not so tolerant of dissent.
Now that Peter Moore's riding shotgun with J.R., the first thing they do, according to Salari (17) is road trip to Seattle and troll Gabe.
At first blush I was going to pass over Dustin Briones' (7) submission, but then I looked at the second poster and got it. If Decava's (5) doesn't animate, go here, you'll see why it's included.
This week's best? Snufkin (19) hands down. Be sure you see the poster full size in the gallery, the punch line is at the bottom. Very well done, Snufkin.
Thanks to all who entered; we'll see you tomorrow with another hilarious challenge.
