Today Nightdive Studios released the source port update for System Shock: Enhanced Edition on PC. Not to be confused with the full remake the studio is working on, the update does things like add higher resolution options and mod support for the existing version, while also fixing many of its bugs.

System Shock is officially getting a remake, thanks to a successfully Kickstarter campaign that raised $1.35 million. The game is scheduled for December 2017 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, but remember, these games tend to slip! If you’re impatient, there’s a playable demo on Steam.

System Shock 3 could be happening, if a new teaser by the studio Otherside is any evidence. Otherside, founded by veteran designer Paul Neurath, is also working on the Kickstarted Underworld Ascendant. Here’s guessing System Shock will be a Kickstarter, too.
