Storm Collectibles’ Ryu And Scorpion Figures Are The Best Around
No one makes fighting action figures quite like Storm Collectibles. From real life warriors like Bruce Leeand Muhammad Ali to a pair of video game’s most famous martial artists, Storm’s kung fu is incredibly strong. I’d meant to showcase Storm’s renditions of Mortal Kombat’s Scorpion and Street Fighter’s Ryu much sooner, but the box they…

Mortal Kombat X‘s PC Version Is Finally Good
At the start of this year, Warner Bros and NetherRealm abandoned the PC version of Mortal Kombat X, a port that wasn’t super hot to begin with. While the console versions would continue to receive updates and DLC, PC players were left with the one thing worse than pulverized ribs or a spine used as…

ESL Bans YouPorn’s eSports Team Because Porn
Popular porn destination YouPorn has an eSports team. Team YP, as they’re known, appeared in a burst of promotional confetti, then promptly disappeared for months. Later, however, they returned with new teams focused on new games. Now that, too, is in jeopardy. The ESL recently dropped the hammer on Team YP and its many heads,…

That Time Prince Inspired a Mortal Kombat Character
Mortal Kombat’s got ninjas of all different colors. Yellow-clad Scorpion is hot like fire and green-skinned Reptile spits acid at fools. Sub-Zero may wield cryokinetic power but he’s not the coolest martial artist in the fighting game series. That title goes to Rain, because he was created as an homage to Prince. Rain was originally…

Watch A Three-Hour Supercut Of Every Mortal Kombat Fatality Ever
Youtube’s Deathmule squeezes just a little under three hours of brutal murder from Mortal Kombat’s 24 year history, from 1992’s arcade debut to the latest update to Mortal Kombat X. Does that include Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero? Yes it does. What about the relatively tame fatalities from Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe? They’re in there…

Mortal Kombat Characters Are Getting Drunk for St. Patrick’s Day
Today, Bo Rai Cho isn’t the only drunken master in Earthrealm. Everybody in Mortal Kombat X will be throwing back green beers and feeling a little bit luckier this March 17th. The new Watch Out Leprechauns premier tower went up earlier this week, bundling together eight matches where players will have to contend with modifiers…

A Salute to Mortal Kombat‘s Surprises
There I was, wrapping up a match in Mortal Kombat X and trying to remember the inputs for a finishing move so I could pull off a spectacular win. Then, suddenly, my opponent died in a totally egregious way that I wasn’t expecting! This sudden Brutality reminded me that I’ve always loved Mortal Kombat’s bloody…

Johnny Cage Demonstrates How To Trash-Talk A Xenomorph
Hate his crotch punch all you want but Mortal Kombat’s douchiest martial artist has a gift for jawing at his opponents. The zingers he throws at Mortal Kombat X’s newest characters are some of the best yet. Courtesy of Maximilian Dood, the video above shows Johnny Cage’s intros when he’s getting ready to face off…

Mortal Kombat X’s New Tri-Borg Is Really Four Robots in One
One of the new characters coming to Mortal Kombat X is an amalgam of three man-machine characters from the fighting game franchise’s history. But it turns out that there’s another robot ninja lurking inside that chassis. One who makes things a whole lot cooler. During the Season 2 Finals of competitive gaming promotion ESL, fans…

Mortal Kombat X’s PC Players Are Getting the Shaft
Mortal Kombat X was’t very good on the PC. While not the outright disaster that Batman: Arkham Knight was, it was still plagued with technical problems. A community still formed around the fighting sequel, but Warner Bros. and NetherRealm are cutting ties with PC players; there will be no more DLC for it. The PC…

Out on March 1, Mortal Kombat XL is a new version of last year’s hit fighting game that bundles together the core game and all of the DLC released so far. It’ll include the characters coming with Kombat Pack 2, so it stands to reason that the add-on will be out on or before MKXL’s…
