
A recent Samurai Shodown tournament in Japan was won by a cosplayer dressed as his main character, Ukyo. The player, Shingo “K2" Kito, has also been known to dress as combat butler Hein during King of Fighters XIV events. Must be quite the power-up!

Capcom has updated its official Street Fighter V tournament rules to address controllers capable of simultaneous opposite cardinal direction inputs, or SOCDs. This sets a new standard for box style peripherals: the original Hit Box is legal, while the custom “Gafro box” that Daigo helped gain notoriety is not.
Nemo and Itabashi Zangief’s storied rivalry got a new chapter last weekend when the former defeated the latter at Fighters Spirit in South Korea. Despite being a pool match, Nemo celebrated his Street Fighter V victory as if he had won the entire event, leaving ItaZan looking dejected.
A major Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament was won by a Captain Falcon main for the first time in 14 years. Justin “Wizzrobe” Hallett achieved this feat at last weekend’s Smash ‘n’ Splash 5, supplanting the legendary Joel “Isai” Alvarado’s similar victory from 2005.

Capcom has decided to ban Daigo Umehara’s custom hit box controller from this weekend’s Street Fighter V competition at Combo Breaker after all. Full story here.
