LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant Hits Its Lowest Price of the Year at 30% Off in a Limited-Time Easter Deal on Amazon

This LEGO Piranha Plant from Super Mario might be the perfect gift to add to any Easter basket.

This may jut be me speaking anecdotally, but I feel like LEGO has gone through a bit of a resurgence among millennials. I mean, the brand has been popular among us since we were still being potty trained, but right now there is a certain collection of LEGO that seems to have taken root in our generation’s collective consciousness. I’m talking of course about the LEGO botanical collection. Almost every friend I have in their late twenties or thirties has somewhere within their house or apartment, a set of LEGO flowers in a pot on display. Sometimes they’re roses, sometimes they’re lilies, sometimes sunflowers—but without fail, they’ve got something on a fake stem with fake petals made of plastic. And I love that.

Another new collection LEGO has introduced in recent years has come from its partnership with Nintendo. Now there are tons of sets inspired by Super Mario and all hit friends and enemies which LEGO fans can shop and start building. The Piranha Plant set sort of combines both worlds. It could be part of the the botanical set if it wanted to. It technically is a flower. Err, plant at least. So why not decorate your coffee table with one of Bowser’s earliest minions? The LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant set is currently on sale for 30% off. Normally sold for $60, you can now snag your own for just $42—saving yourself $18 for a limited time.

Perfect LEGO Super Mario Set for Display

This 540-piece set is designed for ages 18 and up (if that’s not an open and shut case that it belongs with the other botanicals, I don’t know what is). When built, the Piranha Plant stands on its own in a LEGO pipe straight out of the games.

The LEGO Piranha Plant is a posable as well. The mouth can be opened and closed, while its stalk and little leaf arms (are they arms? I guess they’re arms) can also be adjusted.

The set even includes two gold coins. The product page copy mysterious calls out, “What are the ‘coins’ for? Bult the model and find out!” The answer is they don’t really do anything, though the LEGO Piranha Plant does actually double as a piggy bank. There is a slot on top to collect coins, and a trap door underneath to release all which you have collected.

Inside the box, you have clear, printed instructions to follow along with as you build. However, you can also choose to download the LEGO Builder app which can lets you change the angle as you build or even save your progress so you remember where you were if you have to walk away. That may not be the case with such a small set, but it’s still a cool little feature to check out.
