Zelda: A Link Between Worlds’ Art Has Gotten…Goofier

This morning, we got a closer look at the world in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. What most people didn’t notice, however, was that there was a significant change in Link’s character design, concept art wise—according to Tiny Cartridge, Link seems to have gotten goofier between now and the last time we…

In The Drug War Over Candy, NERF Guns Are The Deadliest Weapons

When you make a deal with the Candy Cartel, you’d better have the money at the ready. Cause if you don’t—if you don’t honor the deal—they’ll off you like you’re a candy-filled piñata. With NERF guns, of course. Does this seem familiar? Maybe you watched FinalCutKing‘s earlier video, depicting office NERF warfare: Nerf War –…

There Are Skylanders In This Official Disney Infinity Video. [Update]

Disney Infinity is not a Skylanders clone, but that doesn’t mean the Disney title wasn’t inspired by Activision’s toy-meets-game success story. Heck, three Skylanders toys even showed up for this Disney Infinity “Designing the Figures” video. Update — The video has been removed from the Disney Infinity YouTube channel. We’ve swapped out the original link…

Your Only Enemy In Teacher Story Is Stupidity

Sure, I like strategy games, and I like them to be turn-based. But this is the first I’ve played that depicts how horrible children are. Why did that kid throw a knife? It doesn’t matter, because I attacked his stupidity with knowledge and now he’s leveled up. You can play Teacher Story for free in…

Kickbeat, Zen Studios’ cool-looking music/fighting game, will be out on PS3 and Vita on September 3rd.

Nightmare Pokemon That Look Like They’re Straight Out of An Acid Trip

If Hunter S. Thompson was a Pokemon trainer, pxlbyte figures he might’ve written “Fear and Loathing in Viridian City.” Alas, that isn’t reality—and perhaps the closest we have to that fantasy are these freakish yet beautiful takes on iconic Pokemon by AnemicAngel Up above we’ve got Pikachu of course, only he’s not at all as…

Smite Is Like League Of Legends For People Who Like Shooters and Thor

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a mission: to find the best MOBA video games can offer. I’ve tried a healthy variety—Infinite Crisis, Dawngate, DOTA 2, Prime Worlds—and while they all have their own redeeming qualities, none have hooked me quite like Smite Smite is a third-person MOBA from Hi-Rez studios that, from what…

Watch This Guy Dance Like He’s a Character in a Video Game

America’s Got Talent is NBC’s crowdsourced variety show, designed to get the network from the end of May sweeps to the new fall lineup as cheaply as possible. It still delivers some eye-popping acts, such as Kenichi Ebina, who found the perfect interpretation for his signature reverse-time dance move: a video game. Earlier in the…

Red Dead’s Star Voice Actor Joins Cast Of Espionage Game

I’ve already mentioned that I’m a big fan of the idea behind Codename Cygnus. The game is a choose-your-own-adventure radio drama for iOS that casts you as a spy, complete with voice acting, sound effects, and likely more than a fair bit of intrigue. But a game like this is only as good as its…

Here’s The Etrian Odyssey Remake’s Lovely Intro

Well, really, it’s more than a remake: in addition to the “classic” mode that keeps the first Etrian Odyssey‘s dungeon crawling intact, Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl has a “story” mode that sets you up with a predefined party (and extra cut-scenes)! Above is the intro that sets up that story mode. Millenium Girl…

Batman and Superman Times Two and Two Kinds of F****d-Up Time Travel

Did you know that Kotaku bossman Stephen Totilo has magic hands? As in hands trained in the arts of prestidigitation. I didn’t. These are the things you’ll find out watching he and I talk about Batman/Superman #2, and other comics that have come out recently, as well as some that are out this week. Here’s…

People Are Paying Nearly $100 For Virtual Weed

If you thought that paying nearly forty dollars for a weed emoticon on Steam was ridic, the “Snoopify” app makes paying that much money for digital representations of weed look like a pittance. As the name suggests, Snoopify is a free Snoop Lion themed app that lets you stamp pictures with stickers according to the…

Nintendo Sues Modding Business Over Sale of Game-Copying Devices

Nintendo today sued a Miami-based modding business saying its operation “blatantly promotes and sells unauthorized Nintendo games” along with flash cards and other devices to copy them. HackYourConsole.com is named in the complaint, filed in federal court for the Southern District of Florida. Its website lists five varieties of R4 flashcards for sale, plus has…

The Groping Scenes In Dragon’s Crown, Parodied In One GIF

Despite Dragon’s Crown being a solid game, its characters’ bodies have come under somescrutiny. Regardless of where you stand on that issue, it’s hard to defend interactive scenes in the game that allows you to grope NPCs. To show how touchy the player can get, here’s a NSFW gif by psoodo that makes fun of…

Let’s Take A Quick Trip To Animal Crossing Plaza

Following this morning’s announcement, I downloaded Nintendo’s Animal Crossing Plaza app to my Wii U to see what I could see. Animals, mostly. Some of them even crossed.
