UncategorizedMy Five Favorite Kotaku Stories From Last Week
I haven’t done one of these in a few weeks. Blame E3. But! A record must be kept. My favorite Kotaku stories must be logged. How else would my staff know how much I love them? Here are my five favorite Kotaku stories from the past week (or so). Why Destiny Players Feel Screwed Over…

UncategorizedSplatoon Is Hiding Some Creepy Secrets
It’s pretty easy to miss Splatoon’s creepiest moments. Had someone not pointed it out to me, I never would have noticed! For the most part, Splatoon is a bright, happy game. But YouTuber Siertes has discovered that, if you happen to linger too long on boss levels, you can hear some surprisingly hellish sounds inside…

Marvel’s current mega-crossover has put one of its biggest villains in charge of everything. And the law enforcement officers making sure that Doctor Doom’s will gets obeyed are all Thor. Death rides one more time in the upcoming Darksiders 2 Deathinative Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Let’s see the difference a rewritten renderer and enhanced lighting can make. UncategorizedAnnoying Free-To-Play Pokemon Game Is Coming To Mobile
Nintendo’s mobile efforts won’t get underway until later this year, but that’s not stopping The Pokemon Company, which operates independently, from continuing to experiment. It’s headed to iOS and Google Play sometime this year, but there’s not much to look forward to. Patricia Hernandez, Kotaku’s resident Pokemon expert, hated the game. The question then became:…

UncategorizedGoing Pay-To-Play Was Very Good To LEGO Minifigures Online
What a difference getting rid of microtransactions and adding a price tag makes. I’ve been playing Funcom’s LEGO Minifigures Online forages now, digging its simplified, child-friendly take on Diablo starring LEGO’s little plastic collectible pals. I’ve enjoyed purchasing real-world minifigure packs and using the codes to unlock characters in game, each with their own unique…

How To Make Your Own Crappy Arcade Stick Out Of Old Junk
Redditor Gioppi wanted an arcade fight stick, so he built one out of an old keyboard, some cardboard and a broken pencil. It’s not very good. Here is Gioppi’s Dell keyboard from 2003, from his project gallery. Here is Gioppi’s keyboard upside-down with many of the keys taken off. He remapped the number keys and…

Kotaku EastDog Newscasters Are the Best Newscasters
You know, this is kind of like doge meets the evening news. In Japan, 7-Eleven’s banking service, fittingly called Seven Bank, has a series of short ads starring a dog-in-a-suit with the punny name, Shibao Inuyama. The spots might be for a credit card loan, but it kinda reminds me of that serious Japanese news…

Male Tomb Raider Is…Tom Braider
Isaac Cabrera is a massive Tomb Raider fan, so when the time came to cosplay as the star of the series, some gender-bending was in order. Gone was Lara Croft, Tomb Raider, replaced by *drum roll* Tom Braider. For his shoot, Cabrera dragged photographer Robert Meares on a trip up Mt. Lemmon in Arizona. All…
