Hyperreal Art That Will Blow Your Mind
This is not a photo of Sir Ian McKellen. It’s a painting by a young Korean artist named Joongwon Jeong, and it’s incredible. A few years back, Jeong started making waves on the art scene with his incredibly real drawings and paintings. His work is truly remarkable. Naver has photos of the artist’s process, if…

You won’t need i.d. like a passport, and can easily change U.S. dollars, euros, Chinese yuan, Korean won, Taiwanese dollars, Hong Kong dollars, and Thai baht. That’s pretty cool! This is the first Japanese arcade to get an automatic…

Wow, Being Immortal Would Suck
On its surface, being un-killable seems like something wonderful. But in the world of the new anime film Ajin: Shodo, all that awaits you for eternity is nothing but years of painful human experimentation. Ajin is set in a world where fifteen years ago, immortals, known as “Ajin” were discovered. While only 46 have been…

Valve nerfed Counter-Strike’s controversial new gun. It now does less damage (86 as opposed to 115) and has a slightly longer delay. It’s still strikingly accurate in certain situations, though. If I had to guess, I’d say this isn’t the last time it’ll be changed. We’ll see.

Christmas chicken. It’s tough to love some of the changes Valve recently made to Counter-Strike, but this year’s festive chicken makeover is great. In-game chickens now wear wool sweaters over their frigid little drumstick bodies. (Clutch chicken shot courtesy of 3kliksphilip.)

Not All Multiplayer Shooters Are Abandoned After 12 Months
Some are abandoned and then picked up again years later, when everyone had forgotten all about them. There are a lot of things wrong with multiplayer shooters these days, but not all of them are guilty of costing $60 then dying a year later. I mean, look at Tribes Ascend, a game released in 2012.…

CultureCheck Out The Robots That Make Steam Controllers
When I talked to Valve about the Steam controller earlier this year, they told me they were manufacturing the divisive hunk of owl-shaped plastic in their own machine factory, one of the biggest in the nation. Here’s what the process looks like. Valve released a video of their factory in action, and it’s kinda weirdly…

UncategorizedFallout 4 Weapons Mod Is Absolutely Bonkers
Normally, you can only attach a select number of mods to any given weapon in Fallout 4. This PC mod, however, gets rid of all those restrictions—which means that you can create completely ludicrous (yet amazing) weapons that would normally be impossible in-game. Seriously, this is some Borderlands-type shit right here. The mod in question…

UncategorizedI’ve Found My New Favorite Mario Maker Level Designer
I’ve got no problem with make-you-want-to-scream Mario stages. There are plenty in Super Mario Maker’s community, and I’ve been playing ‘em for months! But it’s not often you encounter levels as inventive as Nintendo’s own creations, yet that’s exactly how I felt while playing Stank’s—yes, Stank!—stages today. As part of my Mario Maker Morning series,…

I Bought An Expensive-Ass PC Gaming Monitor And It’s Really Good
Look, sometimes you spend $709 on a gaming monitor and wind up really happy with your purchase. I’m not saying it happens every time, but it happened this time. After months of hemming, hawing, and talking myself out of it, last week I went ahead and dropped a bunch of bucks on a newfangled G-Sync…

Valve Says 77,000 Steam Accounts Get Hijacked Per Month
Lately, Valve’s been putting a big focus on beefing up Steam’s security—sometimes with measures that players find annoying or limiting. As part of a new security measure’s roll-out, they explained why. Valve began by pointing out that current security measures absolutely aren’t enough to keep precious, precious accounts under lock and key. In a post…
