Look At This $480 Wind Waker Statue

Even these guys are like “OK maybe we should have made this smaller”. This upcoming statue from First 4 Figures recreates Wind Waker’s King of Red Lions (with Link sailing him) in a piece that’s 25 inches tall and costs $480. It’ll be out next year. There’s a limited edition model that lights up. Good…

GTA V Mods Just Keep Looking Better

The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V looked good enough as it was. Mods improved things. Mods continue to improve things. This is the newest trailer for GTA 5 Redux, a “graphics and world enhancer” mod package that will bring new weather effects, new visual tweaks, real-world ads and company logos (like Netflix and…

Got some stuff you want to fix/mess around with in the PC version of No Man’s Sky? Mods for the game are now out, letting you adjust everything from the game’s visuals to your suit’s audio files. Here are some of the best ones released so far on Video Game Mods. Note that there aren’t…

Enderal Is More Than A Mod, It’s A Whole New Skyrim

Enderal is a Skyrim mod that’s been in development for years. I’ve been playing for hours, and I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. Enderal is a total conversion mod that adds a new, nearly-Skyrim-sized continent, loads of sidequests and secrets, and a whole new plot with its own lore and Chosen One. It…

Nothing Brings World Of Warcraft Together Like The Invading Demonic Horde

For the past week players of all levels, races and factions have been joining forces to try and stem the tide of soul-hungry demons spilling into our lands, determined to end life as we know it. I’ve not had this much fun with other players in ages. Since last Tuesday up until this morning’s maintenance,…

The Best Sid Meier Video Games

Veteran designer Sid Meier has over the years been behind—or at least lent his name to—some of the greatest games of our age. Some of these, like Civilization, you’ll no doubt be very familiar with. Others, whether through their age or obscurity, maybe less so. This piece originally appeared 12/7/15. Meier’s story is a great…

Next Call of Duty Has ’80s Zombies With David Hasselhoff And Pee-wee Herman

While Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare takes place in the future, its initial Zombies experience is firmly rooted in the past. In Zombies in Spaceland, four aspiring actors are transported to a zombie-infested space theme park by Paul “Pee-wee Herman” Reubens. Reubens plays a once-popular horror actor who lures the player characters to an abandoned…

The Hunt For GTA V’s Cut Content

Over the years, players have tried to examine nearly every pixel of GTA V. These super fans have found hidden symbols, UFOs, a memorial, and even Bigfoot. While those secrets are cool, Rockstar always intended for fans to find them. Los Santos hides even more, if you know where to look. For two years, some…

Blizzard Reveals New Overwatch Map, Eichenwalde

Overwatch is about to get its first post-launch map. It’s a castle village in Germany with a distinctly medieval vibe, and it’s called Eichenwalde. Blizzard revealed the map at Gamescom in—wait for it—Germany. Pretty cheeky, Blizz. Here’s a video: It’s an Assault/Escort hybrid map, and it’s got an Omnic Crisis (read: robot apocalypse) related story…

Some Concept Art From Fallout 4

This is a treat. Ilya Nazarov is a senior concept artist at Bethesda, and we’re about to take a look at some art from Fallout 4 (and its expansions). We actually featured some of Ilya’s work back in 2012, but that didn’t have any robots or gas stations in it. This collection does. You can…

Destiny Is Finally Getting Private PvP Matches

Destiny, a video game in which players travel through space trying to think up good snarky one-line openings for Kotaku stories, is getting private PVP matches. Finally. Bungie announced the news on a livestream at Gamescom in Germany today. Private matches will be introduced when Rise of Iron launches on September 20. Looks like you…

The “Eye Sigil” Conspiracy Is Indie Games’ Most Arcane Mystery

“Dunno if I’m out of the loop, but what the hell is this?” Crypt of the NecroDancer player RireMakar asked on Reddit last May. In the main folder of the game’s SteamApp root directory, the data-miner unearthed a cryptic sigil, an iris embedded in the palm of a hand, which he posted online. A few…

My Little Pony Fan Figures Are Figures Of My Little Pony Fans

Integrity Toys celebrates the adult fandom of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with a line of high-end fashion dolls that are mind-bendingly discordant. The outfits, the hair, the accessories—all of these make sense. But when applied to people so pretty only plastic could render them properly, my head starts to hurt. I’m not saying…

Straight out of Gamescom, here’s a ton of new footage from the freshly delayed Final Fantasy XV, which will be out on November 29 for PS4 and Xbox One. There’s driving, chocobo riding, fishing, and lots of other promising activities. PSA: Skip the first two minutes if you don’t want some vague story spoilers. Looks…
