A Note To Destiny Players Regarding This Week’s Iron Banner

Hi! It’s me, your favorite Guardian. Let’s talk about Iron Banner for a second. Yesterday, Destiny’s week-long PvP tournament returned with a twist. In honor of the new Rise of Iron expansion, this week’s Iron Banner matches aren’t the usual Control game-type. They’re Supremacy. In Supremacy, you score points by collecting red crests from fallen…

Modern Warfare Remastered Adds Four Great New Cheats

Intel cheats are one of the best things about Call of Duty and Modern Warfare Remastered brings back old favorites while adding some pretty awesome new cheats. Melon headed baddies are just the tip of the iceberg! I played through the game last night, snagging all the intel so I could show you the nifty…

Minecraft’s Latest Update Adds Some Cool Stuff, But Still Falls Short

After much hinting, foreshadowing, and teasing, the newest Minecraft snapshot is out, showing us at long last what the much vaunted ‘exploration update’ has in store. The most exciting addition for this most recent update is the ‘shulker box’, an item built out of the newly added shulker husks, that finally upgrades your storage capabilities.…

The Free Outlast 2 Demo Is Terrifying

Outlast 2 developer Red Barrels released a demo for their upcoming horror game yesterday in Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. I sat down for a late night playthrough to see if the demo could bring the scares. It does. The demo is only downloadable up until November 1st and is a pretty great way…

A Few Hours With GTA Online’s Ridiculous Biker DLC

GTA Online’s recent biker update has stuff you might expect, like new clothes, new vehicles, and some new weapons. The update also has a few surprises up its sleeve, however, making it a great excuse to return to Los Santos. Biker gangs have been a part of GTA V and GTA Online for years, but…

No Man’s Sky Community Temporarily Shuts Down Due To Toxicity [Updated]

Earlier today, one of the largest No Man’s Skycommunity hubs temporarily shut down, causing a small communal panic before the subreddit was reopened under new moderation. Though brief, this incident was the latest episode in an ongoing saga of fan drama surrounding the title. According to a postby moderator R0ugeW0lf, the No Man’s Sky subreddit…

Starter Pokémon’s ‘Feminine’ Evolution Is Bothering Some Fans

Poor Popplio can’t catch a break. First people hated Sun and Moon’s water starter because it was considered ugly. Yesterday, Game Freak revealed Popplio’s evolution, Brionne, leading some fans to feel like they have even more reason to dislike the evolution line. The problem? Brionne looks too ‘feminine.’ On social media, people are criticizing Brionne’s…

DC Super Hero Girls Sets Make The Most Of Lego’s Friends Line

Lego’s girl-focused Friends line, which replaces the traditional minifigures with something closer to tiny plastic dolls, can rub certain collectors the wrong way. Making the tiny plastic dolls DC Comics characters, as Lego is doing with six new DC Super Hero Girls sets, certainly helps. I’m a big fan of the DC Super Hero Girls…

Batman Arkham VR: The Kotaku Review

The hero of Batman: Arkham VR is a little clumsy. His hands shake from time to time. He sometimes drops his Batarangs. He doesn’t drive his own Batmobile, and he spends a lot of time standing in place as other people move around him. This Batman is not the aspirational, acrobatic crusader game creators usually…

Professional artist Takuya Yoshimura is here to help out.  Yoshimura’s credits include manga for Young Jump, including one about hair dressers. Which sounds rad.  On his Twitter (via IT Media and Rocketnews), Yoshimura has been uploading short clips that show how to…

Square Enix Made A Restaurant Where You Watch People Game

In the past week, Square Enix has opened two restaurants. The first one Kotaku previously introduced, but not the second one. Let’s change that. This is “Storia.” It’s located in Tokyo’s Ikebukuro, and the concept is that patrons can watch people play video games while they eat. It vaguely reminds me of a karaoke bar.…

It’s hiiiiiiiiiiii-[several hours pass]-iiigh noon. Lyle McDouchebag is not the biggest fan of McCree’s ult in Overwatch. Consider this Source Filmmaker short his tribute.

Look At This Cute Lil’ 2DS

As Nintendo prepares to relaunch the 2DS in Japan in five colours, it’s also getting ready to launch special limited editions of the handheld. Like this very kid-friendly Pokémon unit. It’ll be out on December 8

May God Have Mercy On Beyond Good & Evil 2

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was first announced in May 2008. That was over eight years ago. Now, today, in October 2016, series creator Michel Ancel says the game is “in pre-production”. OK. We posted last year about how things were looking grim for the sequel to the 2003 cult classic, with rumours of the…
