The Witcher Is Getting A Netflix Series

The Witcher series is being turned into an English language Netflix drama by CG visual effects company Platige Image S.A. The Witcher series was spawned by Polish novelist Andrzej Sapkowski and has spawned highly successful (and wonderful) video games. “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the…

A “click farm” is where fake ratings and rankings for mobile apps and social media posts are manipulated. Here’s a look inside.  This footage was recently uploaded by Russian site English Russia.  It looks similar to the set-up shown in another click farm from 2015. (Note that similar “tables”have been available for purchase online in…

D.Va Walks Out Of Overwatch, Into YouTube Video

Here’s a cosplay team from Korea (AZA and ACROWN) who, instead of just making an Overwatch gallery, decided to shoot a little short movie about D.Va instead. This is one of the best D.Va costumes I’ve seen, since it goes way beyond simply buying a suit, as it also involves making sure all the little…

Fallout 4 Rifle Is A Work Of Art

This replica of a Fallout 4 Tesla Rifle, by Wasted Props, doesn’t just look like the real (well, you know) thing. It spins and “charges” like it as well. Look at it go! For the record, the thing is to scale, measuring in at over 1m (40 inches) long.

How A Witcher 3 City Was Built

Here’s a recap video from this year’s GDC, via Gamasutra, that details how CD Projekt Red built Beauclair, the beautiful fairy tale city from The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine It gets fairly technical in points, but I think anyone who played the game and marvels at how CDPR are able to fit it all…

While a game based on managing the dwindling resources of Adama’s Colonial Fleet could have been interesting, this effort—called…

Daigo Becomes His Own Worst Enemy At Recent Street Fighter V Tournament

Last weekend’s Battle Arena Melbourne Street Fighter V tournament was grueling for the high-level Street Fighter V talent it drew to Australia. The event was so stacked, even a legendary fighting game competitor like Daigo Umehara failed to make much of an impact, but no one expected The Beast’s most challenging opponent to be himself.…

Minecraft Patching Out Controversial Parrot Feeding Mechanic

After a minor controversy, Minecraft will change up the way players tame parrots, VICE Motherboard reports. And while it sounds like the least controversial mechanic in gaming history, the patch was spurned by a Reddit post with 37,000 upvotes that accused the game of potentially endangering real-life parrots. In Minecraft, players feed chocolate chip cookies…

Valve Making Big Changes To Steam Trading Cards To Combat ‘Fake Games’

Steam is littered with games of, shall we say, questionable quality. This has been a known issue for quite some time. Only recently, however, has Valve begun to directly address it. Last month, they said they’re taking aim at so-called “fake games.” Now they’ve detailed their first plan of attack. As Steam users have long…

It’s Ridiculous That Nier: Automata Still Hasn’t Been Patched On PC

Nier: Automata came out two months ago on PC. It’s a really good game, and a clear standout during an unusually strong spring. So why the heck is the PC version still loaded with basic bugs and other problems that haven’t been patched? I spent last weekend blasting through Nier: Automata on PC. I got…

Collecting Sega Master System Games Is A Huge Pain In The Ass

With only 114 U.S. game releases and fairly reasonable aftermarket prices, the Sega Master System is an increasingly popular target for collectors who want to try amassing a single console’s entire library. But as soon as you start, you find out that it’s a lot more of a pain in the ass than you’d imagined.…

Twitch’s Mr. Rogers Stream Is The Purest Thing On The Internet Right Now

Yesterday Twitch started a marathon of all 886 episodes of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood, and thousands of people are watching. Completely by coincidence, I am crying at work. I grew up watching Mr. Rogers on PBS, as well as a ton of other PBS programming, including Arthur, Sesame Street, Masterpiece Theater and Bill Nye The Science…
