EsportsLuigi Taunt Catches Smash Player Off-Guard
In a match last night at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo, one Luigi player pulled out a move that few would ever expect in a competitive setting: the taunt. According to SmashWiki, Luigi’s taunt is the only taunt in the game that does damage, dealing a measly 1 percent. It’s the knock-up that’s useful, and…

Has South Park’s Humor Changed, Or Have We?
This week on Kotaku Splitscreen, Jason and I take on South Park. We talk about the new game, The Fractured But Whole, as well as the show as a whole: its comedic sensibility, how its jokes function, and the baggage South Park has accumulated over the last 20 years on the air. I’ve excerpted a…

Nexon’s booth at TwitchCon has the largest variety of booth foliage I’ve ever seen. So many different kinds of fake trees! Spring trees, fall trees, palm trees, and even bamboo. I counted six different types in total, all to promote a game called Durango: Wildlands. As a booth foliage aficionado, I’m impressed.

Esports360 Dribble In Rocket League Is A Thing Of Beauty
Despite very few radical changes over the last couple years, Rocket League always seems to have something new to teach me. “Jump Up, Super Star!” is both incredibly corny and hard not to love. Nintendo is apparently in love with it as well, having not only made it available to download on iTunes but also gone to the trouble of printing all the words to it on the inside of the game’s case. The game, which…
