UncategorizedMassive Fallout Mod New California Is Out Today
Fallout: New California, an enormously ambitious mod for Fallout: New Vegas, is now out, finished and ready to play. New California—built from the bones of an older mod called Brazil— is set in between the events of Fallout 2 and Fallout New Vegas, and to simply call it a “mod” is to sell it short.…

PS3 Game Shutting Down Servers Earlier Than Promised [Update]
Warhawk is a third-person military shooter that came out on PS3 in 2007. Over a decade before Call of Duty thought to do it, Warhawk ditched the standard single-player campaign to focus instead on multiplayer only. Last month, Sony announced the game’s servers would finally be abruptly shutting down on October 25. Thirty days’ notice…

Newly Discovered Super Smash Bros. Melee Technique Turns Link Into A Rocket
Super Smash Bros. Melee turns 17 years old next month, but that doesn’t mean the game has been completely solved. Sure, there’s an upper echelon of competitors who you can count on to win just about any tournament they enter, but there are also Melee players like Joseph “Savestate” El-Khouri grinding out new techniques for…

Spider-Man’s Heist DLC Is Fun But Familiar
My favorite part of the new downloadable addition to the new Spider-Man on PS4 involves a hungry and exhausted Peter Parker eating a pizza on the roof of an apartment building with the city skyline behind him. Warring mob families, stolen art, a love triangle between the Black Cat Mary Jane can all wait. Everybody’s…

The Official SoulCalibur VI Arcade Sticks Look Like Candy, Work Like A Charm
While your results may vary, I’ve found that I play fighting games better with a nice arcade style fight stick. Hori’s SoulCalibur VI Edition Real Arcade Pro FightSticks for Xbox One and PS4are very nice, even if I do end up feeling like the guy wearing the band’s T-shirt to the concert. They’ve got nothing…

Inside Rockstar Games’ Culture Of Crunch
In the final year of development on Red Dead Redemption 2, the upcoming Western game, the top directors decided to add black bars to the top and bottom of every non-interactive cutscene in hopes of making those scenes feel more cinematic, like an old-school cowboy film. Everyone agreed it was the right creative move, but…

Yesterday, GOG, CD Projekt Red’s digital storefront, posted a tweet that included a hashtag that has been circulating to advocate for trans rights. However, the tweet was a promotional post about the storefront. The post was soon deleted, and today, the company explained the retraction. This is all familiar. “Classic PC games #WontBeErased on our…

Early Versions Of Animal Crossing Included ‘Dog Policeman’
While Animal Crossing made its debut in the States with the eponymous game on the GameCube in 2002, the series started out a year earlier in Japan, first on the Nintendo 64 and then the Gamecube in 2001. While there are only a few differences between the two games, looking at early English language press…

I Can’t Believe I Ignored Monster Hunter: World‘s Arena Quests For So Long
When you’re a busy monster hunter, it’s easy to focus on the next big thing, whether that’s sieges against golden dragons or getting caught up in challenging event quests. That means the game’s other option, arena quests are easy to ignore. I’d been putting them aside for a long time and it might be my…
