Summary
Star Reverie is a first-person, grid-based dungeon crawler. You build a party of four from six classes: Knight, Magus, Rogue, Engineer, Freelancer and Baron. Each class has its own anime portrait and one signature skill that costs DP (Heavy Slash, Ignis, Double Slash, Lead Loose, Gambit, Rally). You walk a maze in 3D with textured floors, walls and lanterns at the stairs. Random encounters start turn-based battles, where heroes act in AGI order and can attack, use a skill, drink a potion, defend or run. Between runs you rest at the Inn, buy potions and gear, and manage equipment in town. In the dungeon you find keys, locked doors and chests, and sometimes a mimic. Dying sends you back to town and costs half your gold.
Floors: There is currently no last floor. Floors are generated from the floor number, and nothing in the code stops the descent. The map grows through B5 and then stays the same size. The look cycles through eight biomes: Mossy Ruins, Flooded Halls, Gravel Mines, Bone Crypt, Crystal Caverns, Sand Tomb, Frozen Depths and Ember Pits. The enemy pool stops getting harder after roughly B12 and just repeats from there, though enemy stats keep scaling with depth.
Bosses: There are six, one guarding the down stairs on B5, B10, B15, B20, B25 and B30. Each has about five times a normal enemy’s HP and can’t be fled from. Beating one is remembered for the rest of the session.
