The game was exclusively released in Japan. It is the first game in the Akiba’s series. It was initially scheduled to be released on April 14, 2011 but became delayed. It was later released on May 19, 2011. The game received a sequel titled Akiba’s Trip 2 (also known as Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed).
