One of the perks of "Creating A Legend," NBA 2K11's career mode starring Michael Jordan, is you can put him on any team in the league. Even the Miami Heat, who hardly need another superstar.
Kotaku reader yesiamthatcool vows he unlocked "Creating A Legend" the hard way, by beating all ten games in The Jordan Challenge. (There is a cheat code that will unlock it for you.) After thinking on it some, yesiamthatcool figured WTF, and put MJ in a Heat uniform. Good thing LeBron's no longer wearing No. 23.
Miami shot out to a 20-1 start on the season. Jordan was averaging 42 points, eight rebounds and eight assists per game, with 58 percent shooting, heading into Milwaukee, a game that should have been a slaughter. It wasn't.
The Bucks' Andrew Bogut dumped 12 points on the Heat in the first quarter for a 26-24 lead, ballooning that to an eight-point margin by halftime. Jordan meantime struggled, with an embarrassing 1-for-9 three point performance.
A see-saw battle in the second half brought the Heat within two with 26 seconds left. After Bogut went 1-for-2 on his free throws after an intentional foul, Jordan buried a three from the corner with 14 seconds left. Milwaukee missed its last shot and the game went to overtime.
"Michael Jordan loves overtime," yesiamthatcool writes. And he loved this one, too. scoring the first four points of the period and 10 of the Heat's 14 points to pull out the 102-98 victory. Jordan's line: 58 points, seven rebounds, four assists, playing all but four minutes.
Here's the box score!
