Microsoft’s announced their lineup for Games With Gold next month, with an excellent strategy game leading the charge. Remember, though Microsoft advertises these games as “free,” an active subscription to Xbox Live Gold is required to play them. If you own an Xbox One, the Xbox 360 games will also be playable on your machine.…

Campo Santo offered a tongue-in-cheek response to a Ford dealership’s art appropriation. Yesterday, Firewatch’s signature mountain panorama appeared in an ad for a Ford sale without the designers’ permission.

Star Ocean V‘s Camera Is So Bad, I Can’t Play It Without Getting Sick

The fifth Star Ocean comes out today, and if you get motion sickness easily, you probably shouldn’t play it. Here’s a video I shot walking around a field in Star Ocean V: Integrity and Faithlessness without touching the right joystick. I didn’t manually move the camera at all. Just for kicks, I also set all…

In 2002, Microsoft bought Rare. Things could have gone very differently, though: Ed Fries, formerly of Xbox, has told IGN that Activision actually outbid Microsoft for the British studio, and it was only a larger offer “at the very last minute” from Xbox’s Robbie Bach that sealed the deal.

Game Of Thrones Always Wins Overwatch’s Play Of The Game

*checks watch* OK, I think it’s been long enough now since the episode aired that we can post these. [stragglers be warned: GAME OF THRONES SPOILERS AHEAD] I know, these jokes have been everywhere since Overwatch launched (there have even been a ton of variants of this in the last 24 hours), but there’s just…

So, These Boner Pills Are Pretty Dark Souls-y

This isn’t the first time a video game has been co-opted like this, and it won’t be the last. I mean, between the art (that’s a Herald on the left, no?) and the font/tone, surely that’s what the makers are aiming for. Your best “Praise the _____” jokes below, thanks. Twitch Chat Microtransactions Are Now A Thing

You can now pay for a flashy new set of emotes in Twitch chat, though it’s unclear how much streamers will be getting if you choose to buy some. Twitch calls this latest addition to their chat “cheering.” “Cheering is a new way to show support for streamers and celebrate the moments you love with…

Mario Maker Fans Have Built A Better Community Website Than Nintendo

Though Nintendo’s Mario Maker website makes it easier to find cool levels, it remains woefully incomplete. Where’s the ability to make playlists? Search for titles by name? Thankfully, fans are filling in the blanks. Makers of Mario, a collaboration between several members of the Mario Maker community, launched into open beta today. Though a number…

Untold Star Wars Stories Are The Best Part Of Lego: The Force Awakens

Star Wars Episode VII’s main story is great and all, but have you heard about how dashing Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and C3PO saved rescued Admiral Ackbar from a First Order Star Destroyer? A Most Inspiring Overwatch Play Of The Game

Last night, my teammates and I ran into some serious Overwatch latency issues. We saw teleporting opponents, hits and ults that wouldn’t register, and mysteriously vanishing health packs. At the end of the match, the Play of the Game was something special. Whatever sick moves DEPUTY_DONG25 pulled off were apparently so amazing that they could…
