The Internet Reacts Like Idiots To The “Official” GTAV Trailer

Another Grand Theft Auto V trailer, another round of people commenting on YouTube, saying the worst/best things you could possibly say about the trailer to a video game. It’s almost as if some super-smart guys were in there making these up, but there’s a perfect mixture of ignorance and brutality that I think might just…

Accused Kickstarter Scammers: “We Are Not Scamming Anybody”

Earlier in the week, the developers of upcoming Ouya exclusive Gridiron Thunder faced allegations that their Kickstarter was a scam, something they tell Kotaku is simply not true. Looking to discuss accusations that their game was little more than a ruse geared towards securing funding from Ouya under a new exclusivity funding scheme, I spoke…

Xbox One Voice Commands Won’t Work At Launch For Everyone

One of the key draws of making the new Kinect mandatory for the Xbox One is that it allows you to do stuff like turn the console on just by talking to it. For Americans, you’ll be able to do that at launch, but if you’re from Australia or Austria, you won’t. Some very, very…

Abandoned House Is Straight Out Of A Horror Flick

There are few things as eerie as an abandoned house, even if there aren’t any ghosts inside. And there may well be a ghost or two in this abandoned German home, particularly the way it’s been photographed by Dan Marbaix. Marbaix is a photographer fascinated by urban decay; he’s even got a book on the…

Nicki Minaj’s Face + Tyrion Lannister’s Face = Wow

The thing about face mash-ups like this one—for me at least—isn’t that they look strange or weird. It’s the opposite! What gets me is that they work so well together despite the perceived randomness of the mash-up. It’s like FaceMashups fused an entirely new person from an unlikely pairing. And man, that smile at the…

Name That GTA V Trailer Track: If you said “Sleepwalking” by The Chain Gang of 1974, you’re right! Now kick back in your deck chair, turn up the volume, and enjoy

Sadly, GameCube-exclusive Link will not be included in Soul Calibur II HD Online this fall, but PS2-exclusive Heihachi and Xbox-exclusive Spawn will be available in both the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions. Combined, they are nearly as good as the Hero of Hyrule. Almost.

Attack on Titan’s Awesome Intro, Redone As A Rad Metal Song

Now, the opening to Attack on Titan is already fantastic—but that doesn’t mean I can’t get behind 331Erock shredding out a metal version of the song. Starts off a little slow, but once he gets into the groove, it’s fantastic. And if you want to compare to the original… Actually, now that we’re here, you’ve…

Samurai Gunn Is A Super Fun Multiplayer Minimalist Fighting Game

Two samurai, two swords, three six bullets. No power-ups or special characters are necessary to make Samurai Gunn one of the best fighting games I’ve ever played. Samurai Gunn is coming to PS4, PS Vita, and personal computers in 2014.

PAX PSA: Bring Hand Sanitizer To The Con Or You’ll Die

People are fun to be around. People are also disgusting — it’s not mean, it’s true. There’s more chance of catching a disease from a human bite than most sewer-dwelling animals, and when upwards of 100,000 of them are gathered in one place, biting is optional. Clean yourselves, PAX attendees! I’ve been to PAX twice…

Three Quick Facts About Knights of the Old Republic

Sure, we all know Knights of the Old Republic had good Star Wars. But did you know that it almost took place during the Clone Wars? That and two other facts in this week’s “Fast Facts” video from Lore in a Minute. There’s even a Mr. Plinkett cameo

Introducing The Nintendo 2DEES… That IS a Mistake This Time

Watching this clip of ABC News reporting on the 2DS, I am honestly surprised that I’ve never heard someone mistakenly refer to the 3DS as ‘three-dees.’ Sure, it’s wrong, but I can kind of see why someone would mispronounce it that way! Same goes for the 2DS. Observe: But beyond that, this clip perfectly sums…

The Room has expanded. One of the very best mobile puzzle games is getting a sequel later this year, but this week it’s gotten an epilogue. The mystery of The Room deepens with a free update for owners of the original game. Plus the game is only $.99 on iOS and Android right now. Get…

Street Fighter Overwhelms People at Church for Best Knockouts Ever

Last week, Chun Li was violently jealous at people all over the internet. Today’s find is a video of various preachers ministering with the powers of other Street Fighter characters. Accept M. Bison into your hearts, sinners. [Via Distractify]

Watch A Whole Bunch Of Wasteland 2

Wasteland 2 sure is looking nice. Here’s a lengthy demo of a level from the game, which gives a good sense of a bunch of the different systems and encounters and how they all fit together.

Well, This Disney Infinity Ad Sure Was Horribly Placed

Whoever thought it was a good idea to place an ad for a kid’s game next to a somber story about child murder…lord, I don’t even know. The paper in question—spotted by Lauren Wainwright—is Metro, a british tabloid. If you’re curious about the story on the right of the picture, which reports bombings south of…

Watch This Dad Awkwardly Ask For Video Game Advice on TV

It’s tough to be the father of a gamer when you aren’t a gamer yourself. Sometimes it’s best to just ask people in the know — especially on live TV. Enter Anchor Joe Kernen, who took a minute on CNBC’s Squawk Box to ask some video game advice of his guest. “Is Beyond Two Souls…

DID YOU KNOW: in this, the year of Luigi, the L stands for…Luigi. (Via BadMiiversePosts)

The Best Way To Play Final Fantasy XIV Is With The Sounds Off

That’s right. Turn down the sound effects volume. Mute the ambient noise. Silence the interface clicks and beeps and just lose yourself in a soundtrack as lush and varied as the world of Eorzea itself. Here are some of my favorites so far. Music director Masayoshi Soken has brought together a dazzling array of talent…

Why We Should All Be Terrified Now That PAX Is One Day Longer

Usually, PAX runs three days. It’s enough time for tabletop gamers, cosplayers and geeks of every stripe to get their ya-yas out with each other about the stuff they love. But, this year, the Penny Arcade Expo is going an extra day. Who knows what horrible facets of human nature could shamble forth as the…
