The 3DS So Rare Nintendo Only Made One Of Them
Every year, a Pokemon tournament is held in Japan to decide the nation’s best schoolboy player. It’s a competition worth entering, because the prize is one for the ages. The prize for the winner of the latest tournament is this Mega Charizard 3DS XL, which is so rare because it comes with the competition winner’s…

16 Hours Of Gaming + Too Much Energy Drinks = Kidney Failure, Coma
“I was playing Call of Duty”, Norwegian teenager Henrik Eide Dahl told The Local. “Then everything went dark and I passed out.” Dahl, 14, had been playing the shooter on his school’s LAN with friends when, taking a break in the cafeteria, he collapsed. Rushed to hospital, his kidneys failed and he slipped into a…

It Takes A Special Game To Make Me This Obsessive, Bravely Default
I’m fifty-two hours into my first play-through of Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies. All four of my characters are level 99, each has all 24 of the game’s jobs mastered. I’ve not maxed-out levels and jobs in a Final Fantasy game in… ever. Recently Jason Schreier wrote about a column by BuzzFeed’s Rachel Sanders…

Between the new Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus we got some amazingly ‘Shoppable pictures of Kotaku editors wearing VR headsets. You know what to do. At least I hope you know what to do — most of you have been doing this much longer…

Happy Anniversary, Hellboy
March 22, 2014 has been declared Hellboy Day by Dark Horse Comics. That’s because it’s been 20 years since Mike Mignola’s signature creation first appeared in print. It’s been a long, awesome existence for Anung Un Rama. Let’s celebrate it by picking the brain of Hellboy’s daddy. The iconic creator got on the phone with…

Spend Your Sunday With Watchlist
Sunday is the time for kicking back and watching YouTube videos, so grab yourself a mimosa or other Sunday-brunch-appropriate food and see what you missed this week in the world of game videos. WildStar Player Versus Player Battles Looks Like A Blast
Considering Carbine Studios was founded by 17 members of the World of Warcraft development team, I can forgive the re-use of the terms “Arenas” and “Battlegrounds”. It’s the combat that matters, and WildStar‘s isn’t very much like WoW at all. With the June launch just a couple of months away, we’re finally getting our first…

The Best Cosplay Of The London Super Comic Con
Oh Sneaky Zebra, how I love the way you’ve changed boring cosplay shots into music videos filled with elaborate camera zooms. London fandom represents, in this first SZ video of 2014. I can’t flip through cosplay photo galleries these days without humming a tune and swooping my head back and forth, and it’s all these…

EverQuest Loot In A Minute. Lore. I Meant Lore.
Having been in operation for 15 years now, Sony Online Entertainment’s MMORPG EverQuest has built a rich and detailed history for players to ignore while they scrabble for loot. Just like I don’t spend all day thinking about world history instead of doing my job, EverQuest players have more pressing concerns than worrying about which…

Thirteen Years Of Halo Nostalgia In Six Perfect Posters
Deviant Artist and Halo fan Scourge07 combined his penchant for art with his passion for Bungie shooters to create a series of wonderful minimalist posters, one for each game in the series. Well, each core game at least. I do not see a Halo Wars entry, nor do I see one for Spartan Assault, the…

You’ve read the review. You’ve seen the tips. You may have even see us stream this very game live earlier this week, but this is the Saturday Morning Stream, and we play what we like — and that’s Infamous: Second Son. Okay, so maybe I wasn’t paying attention to Kotaku on Thursday and missed the…
