Having been in operation for 15 years now, Sony Online Entertainment's MMORPG EverQuest has built a rich and detailed history for players to ignore while they scrabble for loot.

Just like I don't spend all day thinking about world history instead of doing my job, EverQuest players have more pressing concerns than worrying about which god did what when. They've got hungry mouths to feed, and that takes loot.
