Mondo, which up until now has been famous for producing highly desirable posters based on movies and TV shows, enlisted Matt Taylor to create this limited edition poster for Sunset Overdrive. Hopefully quality posters for video games will become a trend. I posted closeups below: The poster will be available at Comic-Con, and possibly later…

Watch Dogs Players United In Their Loathing Of One Minigame

Watch Dogs has been out for a little while now. Some people have beaten up on it for various things, while others think it’s a perfectly fine time. But there is one thing most of us seem to agree on: That drinking minigame is the worst It’s bad enough with a controller, but it’s far…

There are no rooftop guards in Assassin’s Creed Unity? Cool. That’s going to make this next game feel very different. This official tidbit (that we missed…a month ago) is part of a handy round-up of ACU facts that you can read over at the Assassin’s Creed subreddit.

After ten years, EA is pulling the plug on The Sims 2. Today the company said that it “will no longer be providing any new content or making any additional technical updates” for the game. The good news is that if you’re still playing the 2004 installment to pass the time until The Sims 4…

A Space Game Where You Play As A Wormhole

I’ve played as aliens, space ships, and astronauts in plenty of games before. But a wormhole? Now that’s novel. If you have fifteen minutes to spare, I highly recommend giving You Are A Wormhole by Aleks Sennwald a try—it’s a charming little game about being lonely. Every so often, an entity will reach your corner…

Game Of Thrones‘ Most Enduring Fan Theory, Explained

Some fan theories wilt and die while others linger and persist. One Game of Thrones theory—you probably already know which one—just seems too good not to be true. Warning: This theory contains spoilers for both the TV show and books, and possibly for some things that haven’t even happened yet in the books, so don’t…

Five Years Later, Demon’s Souls Is Still Pretty Funny

I’ve said it before: The Souls games don’t get enough credit for their sense of humor. Sure, they’re stressful and challenging, but they can also be good for a laugh. The latest video from videogamedunkey takes a whirlwind tour through the game that started it all: 2009’s Demon’s Souls. He makes a very good point…

The pointy ears, the sharp nose, the formidable jaw…Batman’s got one of the most iconic silhouettes in all of comics. But, like all superheroes, it changed a lot over his lifetime. League of Legends didn’t like my new PC

I have a shiny new PC and I’ve been downloading MOBAs (okay, dota) to it since they’re interesting and relevant, etc, and I tried downloading LoL last night and it just… I pointed it to a folder I made but it started installing files in the directory above that, and then it just kinda started…

How I Learned Link’s ‘Real’ Name

“Link isn’t even his real name,” a friend told me recently. We were talking about Zelda, and the way people reacted to the new trailer for the next big game in the series My friend is more of a Zelda veteran than I. But still, his comment seemed heretical. This is Link we’re talking about!…

Deals: Cheap 4K, Cheap Solid State, FTL Advanced, Ground Zeroes

Samsung’s 4K monitor is the early winner in the 4K monitor wars, and this price is unprecedented. Considering a 4K display has the same number of pixels as four 1080p monitors, this is actually an insanely reasonable price-per-pixel. [Samsung 4K Monitor, $530] 1TB SSDs are just starting to creep towards affordability, and the excellent Samsung…

Playing The Order 1886 Feels Like Shooting Through an Old Movie

You know, I didn’t think about framerate or resolution once when I got to play The Order 1886 yesterday. What I did think was that it felt like playing through an old Cinemascope movie. With at least one very cool signature weapon. I played through the Inequalities chapter that’s been previously shown, huddling behind cover…
