Based on some recent social media posts, Sony seems to be rolling out a new, yet-to-be-announced rewards program on the PlayStation Store involving “Wallet Credits,” which might be the company’s replacement loyalty program following the closure of PlayStation Stars last year.
Over the weekend, as spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle, a PS5 user in the U.K. shared a screenshot of the PlayStation Store taken while they were trying to buy The Blood of Dawnwalker on the PSN shop. In the process, they spotted a new, never-before-seen message that claimed purchasing Dawnwalker would come with a $10 Wallet Credit reward. After purchasing Blood of Dawnwalker, the Reddit user reported that they did indeed immediately receive a $10 credit attached to their PlayStation account.
Another person in the U.K. shared a screenshot of the PSN store on Twitter with a banner advertising the fact that buying select games would grant the user some Wallet Credits. According to reports online, the credits are being offered to select users if they buy games like Star Wars: Zero Company, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and Halloween: The Game.
This all seems to be connected to some kind of rewards program that Sony has yet to officially announce or explain, but that appears to be rolling out this week, at least in some parts of the world. It is likely connected to a strange, unusable app in the PlayStation Store that players discovered earlier this year titled “Wallet Credits.”

Hopefully this means that PlayStation’s new rewards and loyalty program—assuming this is indeed the start of one—will fix the biggest issue with the old Stars program. That loyalty reward system died in 2025 because most players didn’t even know about it, as you had to use the PlayStation app to interact with it, and it wasn’t integrated into the console’s menus or store. Whatever this Wallet Credits business is, it at least seems to be actually integrated into the PSN Store.
Now, maybe someone at Sony can convert my remaining and worthless Star points into useful PSN wallet credits in the near future? That would be nice.
