Packed between a major Counter-Strike tournament and Pokémon regionals, there’s a lot of other great tournaments to catch up with this Saturday and Sunday.
Tekken 7 might be the year’s best fighting game, and there’s no better way to get an appreciation for it than by watching top players knock the pudding out of each other’s virtual characters. But there’s plenty going on beyond the world of fighting games with plenty of collectible card game tournaments including in real life with the Pokémon TGS.
Below you’ll find where and when you can catch all the weekend’s biggest events in competitive gaming. Let us know what you’ll be watching in the comments or if you think there’s something we might have missed.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
CS:GO goes out with a bang this year thanks to the Esports Championship Series Season 4. With eight teams competing and a $750,000 prize pool, the race is on today to make it into the semifinals with European powerhouses Fnatic and Astralis already leading the way. After a few remaining matches today at 12:15PM EST, semifinals will start on Sunday at 9:15AM. The grand finals, meanwhile, are slated to begin at 3:00PM later that day.

Pokémon Sun and Moon
The Pokémon Championship Regionals are in Memphis for a few days before the holiday season this year. Matches began at 9:00AM EST this morning and are scheduled to go into the evening depending on attendance. Then on Sunday top 8 starts at 10:00AM with grand finals set to take place around 2:30PM. Dota 2
The Summit 8 dishes out a few hundred thousands dollars and 300 pro circuit points today and tomorrow. The action kicks off today at 5:00PM EST with everything streaming live here. Wild Card action is ongoing today with those finals at 7:30PM EST. On Sunday, the action resumes at noon with the semifinals followed by the grand finals for the entire tournament at 7:30PM.

Call of Duty: WW2
After last week’s Dallas Open competitive Call of Duty travels to Canada this weekend for the Northeastern Arena WW2 tournament.

Hearthstone
Professional Hearthstone has the SeatStory Cup VIII this weekend. Group matches are ongoing today while the quarterfinals get going on Sunday at 6:12AM EST. There’s a full schedule of matches and current standings in each of the groups available here.

Tekken 7
The Northeast Championship 18 is home to a number of fighting game tournaments this weekend including Street Fighter V, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. A full rundown of events can be found here, but as for Tekken 7, pools are expected to run throughout both today and Sunday with top 8 beginning around 4:00PM on the latter.

Smash Bros.
The Holiday Bash Smash Invitational in Southern California will feature a Smash Bros. Melee singles bracket this weekend. The finals bracket gets underway on Sunday at 3:00PM EST.

Gwent
Last but not least there’s my personal favorite: Gwent. The Witcher-based card game has its second Challenger event this weekend with attendees gunning for a spot in the end of season championship tournament. The likes of Lifecoach, Shaggy, and TailBot will be competing and the $100,000 event gets going on both days around 10:00AM EST.
