Unsighted
Unsighted is, depending on who you ask, an impeccably designed Zelda-like or the best metroidvania of the year. Either way, it’s a phenomenal game about community, disability, and finding meaning at the end of the world. The game is built around an anxiety-inducing time limit, which adds depth to the metroidvania genre’s signature backtracking and increases the narrative pressure in some really impressive ways. Couple all of this with a satisfying but simple combat system, and you have one of the best games of the year.
