The King of Fighters is getting a MMORPG. Called The King of Fighters: World, it will launch in China next spring on iOS and Android.

Today, SNK announced that The King of Fighters XIV will be out in Japan on August 25, Dengeki Online reports. The KOF XIV website’s English page currently has a “late August” release date for the Western world.

Mai Shiranui is joining the newest King of Fighters. While it might seem like Mai Shiranui’s addition to the fray is a given no-brainer, seeing as she is one of KoF’s most popular fighters, SNK actually refrained from putting her in 2009's The King of Fighters XII release.

There will be a new King of Fighters anime and live-action film. That’s according to a report on Tencent, which adds that the anime and film will target Asia, but a North American release is planned.

There's a new King of Fighters game! It's...a network-based mobile game that's based on KoF 2012 but has role-playing game elements. Called King of Fighters M, it will be out the first half of this year in South Korea. No word on a Western release. [Thanks, Sang!]

The King of Fighters is getting, um, a rhythm game? Apparently, this February SNK Playmore filed a trademark in Japan for The Rhythm of Fighters. It's for "game software for computers, etc."
