Ubisoft’s personal gaming assistant, previously only available in Canada, is now out worldwide. Its name is Sam, a nod to Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell fame, although Michael Ironside doesn’t do the voice (sorry, Stephen). Embedded in the Ubisoft Club app, Sam sounds like any other AI that might reside on your phone,…
Far Cry 5's first DLC, Hours of Darkness, arrives June 5 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You play as Wendell Redler back during the Vietnam War, tasked with saving his fellow squadmates. The two others, Lost On Mars and Dead Living Zombies, are set to release in July and August respectively.
The first time I clicked on a dog in Pillars of Eternity II, I was delighted. He went right into my inventory. Then I equipped him to my character, and he followed me around, wagging his tail and boosting my stats. What a good boy! So I clicked him again to give him the pets he so richly deserved. Nothing happened.
While on vacation last week, I finally finished Far Cry 5. Though I’d already spoiled myself on the ending (occupational hazard), I was surprised by how moving I found it when I finally got there. The end wraps up the game’s biggest questions in a satisfying way.
Today on Highlight Reel we have Zelda moments, Far Cry 5 streaks, Harry Potter horror, and much more!
Today on Highlight Reel we have shattered wrists, late game God of War glitches, chocobo detours, and much more!
Someone went ahead and recreated the island from the TV show Lost using Far Cry 5's map editor. It’s not completely to scale, but user PSFREAK33 did their best to add every memorable location from the show, from the DHARMA Initiative stations to Sun’s garden. The map’s currently only available on PS4.
Today on Highlight Reel we have Far Cry terror, racing moments, Titanfall 2 shots, and much more!
I hated fighting Faith Seed, the highest-ranking woman in Far Cry 5’s fictional cult. She was confusing, annoying, and—like all the game’s enemies—wanted to kill me. I was supposed to hate her, but I didn’t relish winning our final battle. Faith embodies the ugliness of the game’s cult, The Project at Eden’s Gate,…
Far Cry 5 has been out for just over a month now, and while there still hasn’t been any word on when its story-based DLC will arrive, the game has been getting weekly events and new online multiplayer maps. With the addition of this week’s event, “White Collar Job,” Far Cry 5 now has its first meme gun as well.
Today on Highlight Reel we have stylish moves, God of War dad advice, Far Cry 5 glitches, and much more!
Far Cry 5 gets its next patch tomorrow when the game goes down for maintenance at 9:00pm EDT. Title Update 5 fixes a number of bugs, including several we’ve written about including the never-ending credits loop and Mary May not spawning in the truck. It also mentions re-balancing some of the weapons.
Far Cry 5 has been out for a month. Its big open world based in a fictional Montana has been picked clean by millions of people. Collectively they’ve caught lots of fish, thrown millions of sticks of dynamite, and been sprayed by a lot of sneaky skunks. Publisher Ubisoft has been contributing weekly live events, new…
Today on Highlight Reel we have weird elbows, sheep glitches, sims beds and much more.
Far Cry 5's latest patch released this week on consoles. Although it addressed a number of minor issues with online multiplayer, mission progression, and overall stability, it doesn’t appear to have addressed one unique and particularly pernicious bug where some players who complete the game get stuck in a…
Video game helicopters are usually difficult to control and not half as enjoyable to fly as they look in real life (or in the movies!). So I want to give a special shout-out to Far Cry 5, which for the first time I can think of in the 3D era has made flying a helicopter fun as hell.
Drive around long enough in Far Cry 5 and you might stumble into an area where strange static comes out of your radio. Stop and listen for a bit and you might even be able to make out voices on the other end. It’s weird and creepy, and has a few players wondering if it might be part of something deeper going on in the…
The more I play Far Cry 5, the less interesting and challenging it becomes. That’s a common problem for a Far Cry game, but I hope it doesn’t remain the status quo.
Today on Highlight Reel we have rocket rides, Far Cry 5 glitches, flying Zelda monsters, and much more!
Far Cry 5 suggests a world on the brink of a violence apocalypse, but the game’s sanitized gameplay and clean-cut power fantasy ultimately ring hollow. If the series wants to make a case for human savagery, it should look back to Far Cry 2, a game that wasn’t afraid to let things break.
