Nintendo

The company that gave the world Mario, Link, and Samus is the undisputed champ of the modern console war, with nearly 150 million Switches sold since 2017. But now, speculation is rampant about the company's next console, rumored to launch in 2025.

Nintendo released its most recent investor approval rating for the company's top Japanese brass. Satoru Iwata got an approval rating of 77.26 percent, making him the only exec this year to be under 90 percent! Last year, his approval rating was 90.60 percent. In the past, it's apparently been as high as 96 percent.

The daily Smash Bros. screenshots on Nintendo's site can easily compete with anything the internet at large has to offer. Take, for example, the one uploaded today. We'll probably never know what's going on in the pic between Mario and the Wii Trainer. They are not fighting, that's for sure.

This week's Nintendo Download is all about Kokuga, the new game from the folks who worked on classic Treasure strategic shooter Ikaruga. I appreciate G-Rev rhyming the names to make it easier for us to rap about them. Also, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic Labyrinth, and several games that wish they were Sonic-related.
