Star Wars: Galactic Racer Release Date Seemingly Leaks Leaving One Less Question Mark On 2026’s Empty Fall Calendar

The sci-fi racer has become one of the year's more anticipated games

Before The Game Awards 2025 showcase, we didn’t even know that Star Wars: Galactic Racer existed. A fresh leak suggests it will be out in less than a year from its initial reveal, penciling in one more important date on fall 2026’s still incredibly blank release calendar.

An October 6, 2026 release date was briefly mentioned on Steam as part of the details for Galactic Racer‘s Deluxe Edition (via Wario64). That puts the Star Wars game firmly in fall blockbuster territory, a busy pre-holiday period publishers have been reluctant to plant their flag in this year as everyone tries to stay out of the way of Grand Theft Auto 6 in November.

This game of release date chicken has become more frequent among companies, with launch schedules not getting finalized until the summer showcase season begins. But this year’s fall calendar still stands out as a uniquely spars affair at the moment.

We barely know what’s coming out in fall 2026

Marvel’s Wolverine arrives September 15 and GTA 6 arrives November 19. Outside of that we know that the S-Game’s console action-RPG debut, Phantom Blade Zero, arrives on September 9 and Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter arrives on September 17 (which I am personally stoked for but isn’t in the same league as your normal fall blockbuster).

Otherwise the fall calendar is practically barren. October is completely empty, for instance. Or at least it was until now. Star Wars: Galactic Racer gives another small clue to how the second half of this year will be shaping up. Does this mean Star Wars Zero Company, which doesn’t even have a release window yet, isn’t making the 2026 cutoff? We’ll probably have a clearer idea come June.
